1. Mike, always good to hear from you. Is it safe to say you're going to become a show regular? I don't regret starting this show at all! If I can educate the TD community on the future of baseball, I've done my job. The only thing I regret today is not having a margarita at the Mexican restaurant over lunch...
2. The only question you need to ask is this. Is Buxton a better option than Shane Robinson? Yes? Great, bring him up.
3. Kwak, I'm the right person for this situation. Whenever someone locks me out of a thread, I don't care what it takes; I'm cracking that code and kicking that SOB in! If you create the same thread title 25 times in a day, the program directors will get the picture, and open the door. Praising Terry Ryan was my favorite DVD too. How did Hanks not win an Emmy for that performance? I still get goosebumps during the scene where Hanks was furiously working the phone, sweat dripping down his brow.... the countless times he yelled "NO DEAL!" and slammed down the phone. And that last scene where he faced the reporters, said "I did the best I could." and started crying? Heart breaking... Check your local wasteland, rumor has it there are still some DVDs in the original wrap buried below. Good luck!
4. Diehard, thanks for checking in. I tore a part my entire apartment to find these "cameras" that you and Chief placed in there.... And you know what I found? Not a thing!! Unless you guys work for the USSR, I'm not going to believe for a second you're a spy. The technology's just not there yet. To answer your question about Boyer, as the king of SCORCHING hot takes, I would know if incriminating photos existed. The real reason he's on this team will shock you to the core. Terry's interested in growing out a beard. And Blaine Boyer gives him access to coupon codes for beard related products. The kicker in this whole story, is TR doesn't realize ANYONE can get these coupons on Groupon. He thinks Boyer is like Willy Wonka, and the codes are his golden ticket to a bada$$ beard.
5. Thanks for the call Loosey. My initial question is can I have the number to your doctor? Because I need that prescription to dream like that! You've brought up an extremely important point..... Is TC Bear able to talk? Bears are able to do A LOT of interesting things... jumping into pools, falling onto trampolines, and my personal favorite.... catching a piece of bread! (Link below) The hidden meaning in this dream, is do NOT, under any circumstance, let a bear drive a bus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mde4Asp66iM
6. AND we're back! I received a voice mail from a guy in Australia last night. At first I thought this has to be a wrong number, but I learned people care about baseball outside of America! Sydney, you must be used to talking to voice mails with your time difference. Is there SportsCenter in Australia? Because you should be leading that with your brilliant takes! I'm all for cutting Joe Mauer so he can figure out the exact point where his sideburns end, and the beard begins. And getting Nick Punto at that rate of $23 million? ABSOLUTE STEAL. Joe doesn't understand the concentration and dedication towards bunting a baseball. He tries swinging the bat so hard, and the ball trickles too far in the direction of 2nd base. Punto wouldn't make that mistake..... Humans are creatures of habit. And Trevor May has adjusted to only coming in when the Twins are down by 6. I can only imagine May hyperventilating on the mound if he came into a game up by 6 runs. The pressure man..... No man can handle that pressure. Keep him in the same role, for May's health and safety going forward.
7. Gooooood morning all of you Whiners! Sorry for the delay, I was hunting for a new intern to answer the phones. Nobody I interviewed was able to answer this question.... "If Bark's Lounge calls in twice in one show, what are you going to do about it?" So now I'm stuck hosting the show, AND answering the phones. We're going to take a quick break so I can drink some coffee, and answer your calls. Stay tuned!
8. Completely agree with you Seth. It doesn't make any sense to use an option year on Buxton this year if a week later it's September call up time. He can easily take Shane Robinson's spot on the roster after the rehab session.
9. What a day listeners. We learned TR is old, it only costs $217K from each of us to buy the Twins, don't trust Nigerean Prince emails, and bunting 100% of the time is the future of baseball. This host's voice is hoarse, and I fired the intern for letting Bark's Lounge slip through the cracks twice. What the hell, I'll answer some calls soon. This concludes show #1 of Minnesota Twins Whine Line....
10. Thanks for calling Mickey. I have no doubt he will be back with the team..... As a special consultant. There isn't anyone else I trust more teaching the fine art of bunting than Nick Punto. Every man has his price to come back to One Twins Way. Me? If they gave me special access to the pre game meals, and take home the leftovers, sign me up! Punto's price can't be much higher.
11. North, when it comes to revolutionary ideas, I look....no, I hunt for your guidance. I don't care who the opponent is. There isn't a 3rd baseman OR 1st baseman in the league that can charge a bunt attempt for the entire game. On 29 other teams, those positions are plus power hitters. Imagine it now, North. Miggy getting worn down by the 2nd inning running back and forth. It has the Vanimal Seal of Approval. An 11 man bullpen is another stroke of genius! Humans learn things in sets of 3. With 11 different options, the batters are going to be dumbfounded by so many scouting reports to read.
12. You must be mistaken, Chief. I'm checking my phone and headphones right now. There are no cameras in sight.
13. Do all of you have microphones hidden in my apartment? It's amazing how there's so many long time listeners when this is the inaugural show! Funny thing is, deck chairs on the Titanic are durable, well designed, and valuable. And I believe that's EXACTLY what the Twins are thinking going back to Hermann.. EDIT: we're having some technical difficulties folks. If the producer of the program (AKA any moderator) can fix what I'm trying to do.... http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/titanic-deckchair-fetches-150-000-auction-article-1.2190202
14. Nominations for who takes Fryer's spot on the 40 man roster? I'm hoping once Milone comes back it will trigger another DFA of Boyer or Duensing. But we'll probably just see Achter sent back to AAA....
15. Hunter should not, under any circumstance be offered an extension. Mauer's situation is going to get ugly in a hurry. The contract is what it is. Question is will Molitor make the tough decision and transition him to a platoon/bench role in the future?
16. LHP Eric Milton - no hitter in 1999 against the Angels for our Twins!
17. Bark's are you using different names when calling in? Or do I need to fire the intern? All it took was the show heading off the rails to find the vision for Minnesota Twins Whine Line.
18. Hosken we have something in common, I love the program too. Can't say I'm a member of Arcia Association (working title) yet to know the answer. I do know that TD poster joethastud broke the news on July 14 that he was eating at Fogo de Chao..... And that was during his hot streak in Rochester. Has anyone seen him at Fogo de Chao since? Long story short, Fogo de Chao = Mashing RHP.
19. Mike at this rate my program director will notice all of your great questions and have you take over my job! There's a fine line with beard length. The minute it gets too long it becomes itchy. The only explanation for 0-3 games since he's so awesome is the beard was too itchy...... that's a scolding hot take you won't see anywhere else than Minnesota Twins Whine Line.
20. Bark's you came to the right place. I'm not a married man myself, but after 16 years is there anything new to talk about? I'd personally choose reliving your early 20's activities. Sounds way more fun than conversing with significant others.
21. Hey thanks for the call Mike. I couldn't tell you if Joe's HOF bound, but i'll tell you something that's been bugging me. Where do Joe's sideburns end, and the beard begins?
22. AND we're back! I need to do a PSA before we return to the calls. Please do not give your bank account, routing number, and social security number to nigerian_prince@yesitsascamduh.com..... I didn't realize it was a scam. Back to the phone lines, hello?
23. What a segment folks. TD Community figuring out how much we have to chip in to buy off the Twins... Nigerian Princes?! This show is derailing quickly, but I like it! We'll take another short break. Carl, Andy, Curly, Mo, Suzie Jo, your calls are next on Minnesota Twins Whine Line.
24. I thought the stat was 62% of all TD posters live in our parents basement... Can someone cover the $120k for me?
25. AND we're back! Lots of calls about Terry Ryan so far. Who's next on Minnesota Twins Whine Line?
