    Givens looked as good for the Orioles as Fien looked bad for the Twins.

    Buxton is waiting too long to swing. It does not look good. I hope I am just seeing something that isn't there.

    Casey Fien had a 6.43 ERA this spring. That will look a lot better than his ERA after his first relief appearance.

    Dave Winfield's five gold gloves in the outfield beg to differ, but I get your point. That is the norm, and I agree. It is both a bad situation and a good one. I do believe Sano must control his weight or be prone to future injuries and sub-peak performance.

    As far as Sano goes, this is his opportunity to break out big in the Show. I don't have a problem with him going to see his family for a week, but he is not in the kind of shape one would like for a large outfielder.

    The Twins are always moving players into new positions at the big league. How often has it worked? I pretty much agree with Ortiz on this, but what do I know?

    Rick Speilman has given up far too many mid round draft picks, and Chuck Fletcher has overpaid many players and given up many second and third round picks as well. They have both made moves, but some of those moves were not very good.

    If not for injuries, Garciaparra would be in. His situation is a lot like that of Tony Oliva.

    Mauer needs a strength coach that can get him more hits and a hitting coach that can work to his strengths.

    We already have a 1st baseman with no power so why not put him in the outfield and move some power to 1st. Is either a good option? I hope that Mauer did heavy core, arms, and legs weight training in the offseason rather than play golf.
