    many people have? I saw one person say he is cooked. Where is the part about fringe fifth starter and where are there many people saying that.

    pretty sure no one has come close to saying that on this site. certainly not many have actually said that on this site. At worst I have seen people call him a #3 guy. So I dont think the word 'many' means what you think it means.

    and to be fair, in 2006, we had won 3 of the previous 4 division titles and proven playoff caliber talent was still there. This team is nothing like the 2006 team that was 10.5 back in August but also had a record of 65-46. If this team was 65-46, doubt anyone would have much negative to say about it. Right now, we have to hope this team is like the 2001 team. Oh, and Mike and Mike arent exactly baseball experts. Even less so 11 years ago

    Mauer is the best defensive 1B in the AL (best in DRS and UZR) and has helped the infielders a ton with his play. Offensively he's sporting a 108 wRC+ (9th out of 14 AL 1B). He's not a star anymore but he's hardly a detriment.

    if the Twins dont make the playoffs Molitor should be gone? With the talent on this team (especially on the pitching side) the fact this team has held on this long in contention is quite something. There are reasons to fire Molitor, but a team that shouldnt make the playoffs (based on talent level) not making the playoffs isnt one of them.

    I have felt the same way about Gibson for years. Of course, I am not on the Colon bandwagon, but he just got here and he will be gone NLT end of season. Right around the time that, hopefully, Gibson is gone from the organization as well.

    Gibson has a 5.52 FIP (and an ERA over 6.00). He has a WAR of -0.1. Last year, Gibson had a 4.40 FIP (and an ERA over 5.00). I'm not sure why there is any problem with his demotion. Should have happened a long time ago. If anything, the team was TOO patient with him.

    Rockies are my NL team, so I was dressed properly and rooting accordingly :-) Inside the Rockies backpack they gave me, there was an Arenado Jersey, a Rockies hat with a blond wig sewn in (in honor of Jon Gray), a poster, two Colorado lottery tickets, a koozie and an Ian Desmond Rockies t-shirt.

    So I was at Coors Field for the Pirates series this past weekend. On Friday night, at the end of the 6th inning, the Rockies gave one lucky fan a Rockies backpack full of gifts after randomly selecting the seat. Mine was chosen. It was awesome.

    There are whole threads on TD dedicated to complaining/talking negative about people being 'negative'. Instead of flooding every thread with complaints about negativity, maybe it can be done there so as to not disrupt other threads, like this one.
