    They can likely flip Reyes for some quality prospects. Cant do that with Nolasco.

    Since the start of 2013 he has provided less than 2 total WAR. Wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot poll. Basically a half win guy.

    If by that you mean that the government can't prosecute anyone for suggesting Mauer gets traded, then yeah you are reading it correctly.

    Toronto made a great trade getting the best shortstop in baseball and I think it works well for Colorado because they will flip Reyes at some point and get even more prospects.

    yeah, it'll hurt him for sure. Like it has Reyes or Donaldson. Or pretty much anyone I can remember while there. Bautista, Encarnacion... We talking about the Eagles old field, The Vet? I like how people are anticipating Tulo's expectant injuries with so much joy. .

    I wonder how long before the Rockies trade Reyes for more prospects. This offseason, or do they wait till the trade deadline?

    Figures. Rockies are finally my home team where I can watch my favorite player play every game and he gets traded. Good for Toronto.

    May BETTER be in the rotation to start next season. He SHOULD be there now.

    Only one bullpen allows a higher % of inherited runners to score. Only one team has allowed more actual inherited runners to score. (no, it's not the same team in front of the Twins in both categories).

    That is how it seems for sure, but I worded my post wrong. Since I don't know for sure he does that all the time, I don't want people to think I pretend to know he does that all the time. Poorly worded, hopefully I fixed that in my followup post statisfactorily (yes, I spelled that wrong, on purpose).

    I see your point, but when did TR ever make the gutsy move to push his contender over the top? During the times when people are now saying would be the right time to make a gutsy move he still didn't do it.

    I accidentally worded it wrong, I meant IF TR did that, or really any GM, then it would be pointless to even look at the metrics. I apologize for making it seem I knew for sure TR would do that. I used TR cause he's our guy and it would concern me most if he did that. But if we are looking for examples, couple examples might be Hunter and Correia.

    cough, Hardy almost his whole career, cough :-) But I agree Plouffe has no business playing shortstop with us. He couldn't do it when he was younger, no reason to think he could now. Not sure there is a real reason one would even try not that he's gotten so much better at 3B.

    What concerns me is that someone like TR will look at advanced metrics and listen to them only when they agree with what he already thinks. If not, then discard them as inaccurate. If you're using it like that, you might as well not be using it at all. Understand that doesn't mean everything done should always agree with the advanced metrics either and discard a well thought of scout's opinion that differs.

    thank you. this team hasn't come close to fixing the rotation regardless of our hot start.

    whether it's true or not, I heard on MLB Network or ESPN. Some supposedly reliable places that before Friendman came to LA and brought a ton of executive talent with him, there was one guy doing what Jack Goin does for the Twins. One guy in the department.

    He can win by the team actually showing signs they can consistently be a true playoff contender (which having one great month doesn't do), but besides that, maybe not for some. I'd rather discuss how he does move to move (or not move as the case may be).

    I'm not sure what they've done historically really applies to now, considering how much rosters change over 30 years, but they won 92 games in 2013 and 85 in 2014, so pretty recently their talent was winning games. Not much roster change between last year and this and their young rotation got more experience. Pretty confident in saying they are underperforming.

    I forgot, you are privy to all the conversations I have across the net and in real life to know how they went. My bad. I don't need to exaggerate to make a point and I know how my debates went better than anyone else. Certainly better than you, since you weren't involved in any of them. You have the gift of hindsight to see how things turned out to now say no one would have slammed the idea. At the time the debates happened, no time machine was around.

    and if not in 1-2 year, then 3-4 years...

    well, everyone except those who defend everything the Twins management does or doesn't do. Those guys won't be complaining.

    Indians are playing way under their abilities, Tigers are sliding for sure, and I expected some sliding this year, but I'm not counting them out for the next couple year. I figured the White Sox would stink and they do. I don't think our window for next year is huge at all because we have lots of concerns ourselves. We can't assume everything goes right for us and everyone else drops off. KCs window is going to last at least a couple more seasons and our rebuild is still a bit aways (and that's before all the adjustment times happen, like most players need).
