  1. Meyer in 2014: 3.52 ERA, WHIP 1.381 WHIP and 4.4 BB/9 IP. Those are not solid numbers. Meyer in 2015: Started out as a starter and had to be converted to a reliever. AAA numbers: 4.05 ERA, 1.480 WHIP, 4.5 BB/9 IP. Face it, he's not meant to be a MLB starter. He might not even be good enough to be a MLB reliever.
  2. Is it your contention that ERA is the stat that best gauges performance of a pitcher?
  3. Rey is going to be a bad ass Jedi. Already so powerful with no training, wait till Luke trains here. I think Poe also has some Jedi in him. They made a point of talking about/showing how great of a pilot he is. Two best pilots we've seen were Luke and Anakin.
  4. It's fine. Don't feel picked on in the least.
  5. Some are saying Milone is fine because he's our 5th starter. Fine. But I thought Nolasco was our fifth starter. Let's just say, we have a lot of options for 3rd-5th starter. At some point we have to look at the rotation and say some are bad for the spot in the rotation they are slotted. We can't just say these pitchers are okay cause they are our fifth starters. Only one guy can fill each spot in the rotation. And no, the talent in this rotation is not very good. I read that somewhere in here and, no. Not at all.
  6. Speaking just for myself, it's got nothing to do with Malone. I think going into the 2016 season, May could have been our second best starter, and perhaps our best starter. I'm not a big fan of pitchers with Malone's skill set, but he's managed to get results, so that's a good thing.
  7. Even the Rockies have gotten farther than the Twins in that time frame. Let THAT sink in. :-)
  8. Yes, the cash strapped Twins. Poor, poor Pohlads. Epstein teams also played in tougher divisions, in a division with a team that spent even more than they did, in a market with a tough media, and for a fan base (and owners) with huge expectations.
  9. 'As for Epstein and Luhnow, I certainly give them credit for their two championships in the last 22 years combined. They've made a lot of good decisions, as well as a couple of clunkers. I just don't see them as all that vastly different from Terry Ryan.' TR and Theo Epstein are close to the same kind of GM in the same way a Ford Focus and a Porsche are both cars.
  10. True Nathan wasn't a closer, but he also was converted to reliever by SF and he was very good in that role. I wonder how good KC would have been the first year they had him if they hadn't made the mistake of putting Davis back in a rotation. They were pretty close to playoffs after that great trade (which I called a great trade by Moore when it was made). In any event, you're right. Both the Twins and the Royals did well in those trades.
  11. Wade Davis was converted to the bullpen BEFORE KC got him. KC decided to put him in the rotation for reasons passing understanding and he failed, but the Rays are the ones who rightly determined he was best utilized as a reliever.
  12. He's ruining the Revere/May trade by wasting May in the pen.
  13. This article seems right on point.
  14. No hindsight needed. Plenty of fans said the Hughes extension was bad when it was done (as well as Suzuki's).
  15. Netflix still has Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Daredevil season two and The Defenders.
  16. I'm hoping we have enough good pitching. I don't think we do at all.
  17. Movie was awesome!!!!!
  18. that is true and your point is certainly taken. I'm speculating, without being a mind reader or lawyer of course, that since TR has been GM for 16 of the last 20 years, most people are talking about TRs time when talking about Twins trends. And it seems that would make sense since he's currently the GM and it's his trends that matter, not Smith's.
  19. When someone is as ultra-conservative as Ryan has been, even a small shift seems huge. He couldn't have gotten MORE conservative. Only one way to go really. He's still very conservative.
  20. Rosario hasn't proven he can have a .290 OBP even with a .332 BABIP. Hicks had .323 OBP with a .285 BABIP. Let's see what happens to the OBP of the impatient Rosario when his BABIP comes down.
  21. I think between Rosario and Hicks, Hicks has the better career.
