  1. TBs AL rotation rankings I showed look even better when you consider 3 of the 4 division rivals rank 1, 2 and 4 in runs scored for the AL.
  2. Hu's a starter right? I didn't know the Rays had a starting pitcher disaster on their hands. For the AL, their rotation is 1st in K/9, 6th in WAR, 3rd in FIP, 7th in ERA. Doesn't seem like too much of a disaster to me. I wish our rotation was such a disaster.
  3. 'Buxton developing at the plate?' Developing into a wind producing fan, which the paying fans sitting behind home plate probably appreciate with the heat and all.
  4. Wonder what our team OBP would be without his .367, considering he's second on the team? Our team is already 14th out of 15 (only 1 point above the As) with a team OBP 58 points lower than Mauer's. The Twins on the active 25 man roster with a higher wRC+ than Mauer: Grossman (give him a week or two). Nunez Dozier Unless we're taking into account his salary, he's probably not the guy you bench or release. Still a disappointing season for him, though, no doubt.
  5. Most rookies are 6-9 years younger than him and haven't reached their full potential. 30 year old hitting as poorly as him. Hard to have patience. What do we do, wait 2-3 years like we would a rookie with upside? makes him 32-33 and almost a FA. I said all along, getting him was a mistake for more than just one reason. Every single reason has come true.
  6. fighting crime and moonlighting as bartenders
  7. In fairness, Ryan DID say that bullpen was the #1 priority (whether one agrees with that assessment or not, it's what he said). Then he did almost nothing to address it, but at least he knew it was a huge issue.
  8. With arguably the worst rotation in the AL (and perhaps all of baseball), wouldn't be hard to find a person May could replace.
  9. As far as Twins trade rumors go, I haven't heard/seen a peep about a Twins possible trade other than one article that said Plouffe might be a consideration for the Mets, but that he wasn't better than what they have and that there were better options available.
  10. Even with this, um, resurgence, there are at least 5 catchers doing better than him in the AL.
  11. Technically, he isn't any more. :-)
  12. A pinch runner who is tied for the league lead in caught stealing even though he's only attempted 17 steals and a defensive replacement who isn't a good defender and not a better defender than anyone he replaces.
  13. because I was responding to someone who said TR had no more supporters? Do you think thats true? no? Neither do i and i said so in a succinct and non-insulting way. You wont convince me there is a problem with doing that. You have turned it into something more, not me.
  14. and we know for sure he wasnt able to pick up one of the many fallen swords in the room?
  15. I just seriously doubt Syrio was beaten by someone held in such low regard when it comes to sword play/fighting.
  16. Other than Ned paying him, and then perhaps getting attached to Arya, I don't know.
  17. I meant the fight was down to just the two of them. I know he survived, but that doesn't mean Syrio didn't get out of there.
  18. When talking about whether or not Syrio is alive, remember it was down to him and Trant. Hound and Sir Barristan Selmy both noted how easily someone could beat Trant, so I find it hard to believe he beat Syrio. the first sword of Braavos. Between that info and Jacqen just happening to be there, is why I like to think the first Jacqen we saw was actually Syrio. He also knew who Arya was right away. He also promised Ned he'd train her. Probably wrong, but I don't think it's too far out in left field.
  19. He's a fine example of a truly valuable utility IF who doesn't disappoint if he has to play more than a utility guy would normally be called to do. A guy like that has value.
  20. Or don't hold your breath that Ryan will ever be fired. If he steps down, his hand-picked successor (likely Anthony) will step in. This team has proven time and time again that it's all about keeping things status quo.
  21. I like to believe Syrio Forel was the Jacqen she first met. That Syrio escaped KL with the face we know as Jacqen. What was Jacen doing there in the first place?
  22. I don't think pointing out that there are a few who defend him at every turn without exception is creating an us versus them model. It's pointing out the reality. They may be quieter now than during the offseason, but they are there and it's obvious. So when someone says that no one is supporting TR anymore, it's not wrong to say that's false. And they are entitled to be TR supporters. There are also those who just want to slam Ryan at every turn as well. The two extremes exist. Both exist and that's the truth of it. Additionally, I didn't say on this site. There are Twins fans away from this site as well, both online and in real life. Saying there are plenty of devoted TR supporters is absolutely true, cause there are. Just like saying there are plenty of devoted Mauer supporters is true as well. And everyone should be entitled to be a devoted supporter of their favorites.
  23. Oh, there are plenty of devoted TR supporters.
  24. yeah, all he needs to really do is become a decent MLB player for this to be a horrible decision.
  25. Well, it depends on what your motivation is. Infinite faith in TR's decisions is all you need.
