  1. No one I see is advocating buying, they are advocating selling. And those people will likely be disappointed.
  2. disappointed but not at all surprised.
  3. yeah, he cant
  4. I misread that the first time :-)
  5. Rosario will be nothing more than a 4th OF. Fields okay, won't hit/get on base enough to hold down a regular job. Our new Punto, OF version.
  6. Yeah, the announcers also said Milone failed to cover and you can't do that. They aren't the smartest group, for sure, but I watched it a few times and I wouldn't have charged an error either. And the official scorer also didn't give it an error. Ball was a rocket, surprised Mauer got glove on it. If a shortstop stops a ball that is rocketed t him, it rolls a wee bit, and and still has time to pick it up and throw a guy out and the 1B is picking his underwear out of his crack, that's not the shortstop's fault. Edit: Official scorer changed the decision and charged an error.
  7. Mauer's was not an error. The problem is, Milone didn't cover.
  8. lots of fluff commentary today. It's thick.
  9. well, Roy says there's no doubt Kepler and Buxton are going to be good major league hitters. We can all rest easy now.
  10. or perhaps he meant over the last two weeks.
  11. The Brooklyn Bullies. Man, oh man. From Gardy (when he was here, managing) to the announcers. The pedestal they put the Yanks on and the fear they have of the Yanks is embarrassing. Then again, with this team, I should be used to that feeling.
  12. The Danny Santana with a .400+ BABIP? That guy? Arcia's BABIP was .294 in his best year.
  13. Hey, for me, it's 2025 or I'll start getting upset :-)
  14. Santana is not used as a 25th man. Santana plays, a lot. Arcia has 179 MLB PAs in the last season and a half. 179. Last time he got regular playing time, his wRC+ was 109. Not great, but from a 23 year old, not bad either. If used properly (as a LH DH), he'd have real value. Hopefully the Rays use him that way.
  15. For his career (so 2.5 seasons), he's stolen one base and scored one run as a PR.
  16. 179 PA in the last season and a half. Pretty hard to gauge anything on so few PA. Santana, on the other hand, 417 PAs in the same span. What have we seen from that? About a .555 OPS and an OBP around .255. Good thing he cant steal a base or play good defense.
  17. Unacceptable defender at any position, his speed doesn't help him stealing bases nor help his ability to get on base. He has one skill, speed, which he still manages to not be able to use enough to make other skills better. Not sure there's been a worse MLB player in the last two years who has gotten significant playing time.
  18. I don't want to trade Kepler. I think he's a future very good player.
  19. I've gotten to the point that unless my football teams are playing (which means 1 NFL team and 2 college teams), I'm pretty uninterested in the game. There are very few baseball games I wouldn't watch at pretty much any level of baseball.
  20. Only if 'everyone' means something different than I think it does :-)
  21. I never, ever, use fielding % or errors when taking into account defense. I still see him a a good defender who could end up being a very good OF.
