  1. Ah, but what is he back too, exactly?
  2. Problem is, we've had quite a few fine #5 pitchers. That phrase 'fine #5 pitcher' has been used to describe maybe 25 pitchers in our rotation in the last 5 years :-) They can't all sit in the 5 spot.
  3. Quite the dubious distinction. When having an ERA of 4.47 is looked at with happiness and reverence ;-) The team has hardly set the bar high. He's 5th in FIP.
  4. Well, not only that, but the Twins would have to eat a good chunk of money, probably most of it, for a trade to even happen if he did waive the no trade clause. Wouldn't help the bottom line, our team wouldn't suddenly go grab an ace with any of the saved money. And, you know, he's not exactly blocking any hot prospects either.
  5. Even the very best defenders have the occasional mess up. Every one of them. It's body of work that needs to be looked at and his body of work on defense is good. He has a solid zero for a DRS. Not great or fantastic or anything, but he's good. We've definitely had worse out in RF for years, including this year.
  6. Speaking of Minnesota Soccer? Anyone see what Minnesota United's goalkeeper did? Funny stuff. http://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/watch-minnesota-united-goalie-throws-ball-into-his-own-net-in-blooper-of-the-year/
  7. The also make Punto look better than most people thought he was, so take the good with the bad, I suppose. it's up to you to figure out which is which :-)
  8. Maybe they figure with the product they put on the field, one has to be drunk to enjoy it? :-)
  9. I'll be happy when he's out of baseball. If he goes into announcing/commentary, I hope it's in Boston or for ESPN. Biggest 'All about me' guy I've seen in a long, long time. Mr. Everybody has to follow old school rules except me guy.
  10. Never understood the whole questioning his defense thing.
  11. Joust! I played that at the arcade as well!
  12. After that, we went and had a few drinks talking about the old times...and when we felt like crying we'd start laughing...
  13. Ah, Dig Dug. Loved Dig Dug. So, in Portland, they have this great retro video arcade. I visited my best friend last year and we went there and played for maybe 5 hours. It was a blast. Give me a game system with a joystick and a red button any day!
  14. I could play Defender forever. I'd never run out of lives. And it's the one game that never shows up on the retro Atari games systems they put out. I think my mom still has my original system in storage somewhere along with my remote controlled R2D2 :-)
  15. I had scarlet fever when I was a kid. going bald was inevitable for me, so I embraced it. Figured it looked better than letting my hair grow with a big bald spot on top to go along with the ever receding hair line. Good thing I have the head for being bald.
  16. I haven't needed a comb or brush for over 10 years. Last time I needed one was to run it through my flat top so the hair would stand up. Had the flat top for a few years until I just decided to shave my head. Been doing that ever since.
  17. There are people who work in my building, along with a few others, that have full on mullets. They literally never left the 80s. It's awesome, yet disturbing at the same time.
  18. Tanks was fun. You'd maneuver around what looked like walls and fire shots at each other. Moving at a nice sloooow pace
  19. This game thread is going to have more posts in it before the game even starts than the game thread had total after the game was over yesterday :-)
  20. Seriously, when I said San Francicso Vegetarian's mascot, I had no idea it was Stanford's mascot. Funny since Stanford is like a 40 minute drive to San Fran.
  21. We'd play a game of pong to decide that :-)
  22. San Francisco Vegetarians' mascot?
  23. I lost mine in an ill-advised poker game.
