  1. And Baez can slip in there if Addison is hurt.
  2. I don't want either. Is that an option? :-)
  3. And if Rosario was one of the OF he had in mind that are ready to stick, Smith signed him too.
  4. The Cubs promoted the #1 catching prospect in baseball (Contreras). Not sure they are looking for catcher,
  5. Most supposed experts said the one place the Cubs needed help was LH RP. Most thought they'd go after Miller (and they probably did), but they got Montgomery and now Chapman.
  6. If the Cubs want, they could probably re-sign him too.
  7. and that's just the closer's line, haven't looked at the set-up guys
  8. I was looking at Rondon's stats earlier today. He's blown 4 saves and they won two of those games.
  9. Cubs have depth when it comes to middle IFs and they are young. I'd have no problem with this if I was a Cubs fan.
  10. Actually, I've been saying DH. I don't think he'll end up a serviceable 3B, and I have never have thought that he would.
  11. Sano is 'just fine at 3B' Uh, WHAT?
  12. If 1B defense isn't important, then Sano should replace one of the best defensive 1Bs in the game, Mauer, at 1B.
  13. I'm saying, in this instance, seems the amount of easy fly balls as opposed to line drives (on top of the many grounders to the 1B-2B side) suggest his BABIP is a product of his swing more than just bad luck. So you know, I'm a huge Kepler fan, basically since we got him, so there's no trying to prove one thing over another here, just thinking that in this instance, it has more to do with his swing than anything else. BTW, his BABIP is improving.
  14. enjoy the rest of the game, need to run some errands. GO TWINS!!!!!!
  15. Not sure what part is wrong, but okay.
  16. Plouffe wasn't raised in the minors a 3B and he, still, was never THIS brutal. Sano at 3B is a kind of bad one rarely sees at the major league level and he played there almost his whole minor league career. Pop ups, throwing errors, errors between his legs. Brutal on everything but soft hit balls he comes in on.
  17. Sano's defense at 3B is making Brauns rookie year at 3B look good.
  18. Were the announcers saying Paul thinks Sano makes up for his defense with his stick?
  19. Seriously? People were charged a bunch of errors in that day. And the overall dWAR puts a positional adjustment in there. That's why youll notice almost every 1B has a negative dWAR nowadays. Plus, I think it's probably easier to judge defense for players they had film on for every game :-)
  20. Been saying it for a long time. DH is where he should be. He'll hurt us too much anywhere else.
  21. If Gibson is being considered a relatively safe bet, and our only one to boot, we are truly screwed.
  22. No, I don't. Not at all. Trout, Donaldson, Altuve, MAchado. All more than Ortiz. And others ahead of Ortiz too. Because defense counts too.
  23. Not that I know of. And it won't happen this year unless the writers decided to vote based on Narrative.
