  1. If the Dodgers can get Dozier without giving up Bellinger, thats better for them than getting Kinsler and having to give to Bellinger. And thats even before you take into account age and price of the two players. Kinsler is the bigger name, so he may cost more, but Dozier is the better value and has a better chance being a better player going forward.
  2. Bellinger is being talked about for 34 year old Ian KINSLER. Dodgers would be absolutely stupid to do that.
  3. at 13M a year, not enough of one. not enough to validate that kind of move.
  4. I thought the Astros had turned the page and gotten a bit smarter. Then they sign Reddick to a ridiculous contract and that thought goes poof.
  5. and they will be good for quite some time.
  6. Finished 6th. And one guy actually had him 1st. He should write in Minnesota and cover the Twins, where defense also doesn't matter. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/voted-david-ortiz-al-mvp-award-winner-mike-trout-article-1.2878145 One of his main reasons was Trout didn't play meaningful games past May 1st? I guess he didn't play any contenders after that? No effect at all on who made the playoffs? If having the fortune of being drafted and/or playing on a team with enough talent around him to get to the playoffs is such a factor in MVP voting, why put Trout 2nd? Why have him on your ballot at all? He wants to talk about Ortiz offense. And apparently got bonus points for being 40, as if age should be a factor. Ortiz got the award the Hank Aaron award, which is about offense. But he's also a DH. Offense is all he does. Additionally, Trout still lead in wRC+ by 8 points. A player at a premium position led the majors in wRC+.
  7. What's Rosario going to bounce back to? His BA in 2016 was better than it was in 2015. His OBP in 2016 was better than it was in 2015. His K rate was up slightly this year, but not significantly. His walk rate was up slightly (again, not significantly) The area where he was 'worse'? His slugging % was down this year, compared to last year, due to an unsustainable amount of triples he had in 2015. This was predictable and was mentioned when people were talking about who was likely to be most disappointing this year. He was basically the same player he was last year, at least offensively. And, defensively, the league figured out he could throw so his assists went down cause less ran on him.
  8. Good for him. I haven't been a Gardy fan for quite some time, but if he wants to stay in the game, Arizona is a good spot. With Ryan gone, he was going to (rightfully) have zero input with the Twins so moving on was good for him (and us).
  9. Gardy is now a bench coach for the D'backs. A heartbeat away from being manager :-)
  10. Porcello is a good choice. He's worthy. He's not the best choice, or the most worthy, but deserving. Really between Porcello, Kluber, Verlander and Sale, it was really close. Notice that two voters didn't even list Verlander at all.
  11. That's not the one I read, but there are some of the same names being mentioned
  12. I read somewhere else that Buehler and another player, I think Sheffied, would be a good tradeoff for Dozier. Can't find where I found that, I'll try and find it, but looking at those guys and taking into account Dozier's age, the amount of years left under control and the fact that this year will seem his absolute peak and out of the norm, seems about right. Thoughts?
  13. Here's Roddy White saying a cop was acting in a racist way towards him on a traffic stop, because he was touching his gun. http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news/roddy-white-police-stop-cop-gun-ticket-atlanta-falcons/r6hk3rsphrmp1j7ty2da6xned
  14. potato oles with the cheese to dip it in. Yummy. I miss taco johns.
  15. Rome was also great. Tudors was very good too.
  16. Deadwood is one of my favorite series ever (the west wing is also) and season one of Broadchurch is probably my favorite individual season of any show. Season one of True Detective and both seasons of Fargo are in the running for best individual seasons of any show as well.
  17. So how much of an afterthought are teams like Cleveland on the national Level? Ron Darling just got done saying that even though he had heard of Naquin during theseason, he didn't even see Naquin play live until the postseason.
  18. It's kind of funny. Last year, Bryant was the unanimous choice for NL ROY This year, Seager was the unanimous choice for NL ROY And they very well could (and absolutely should) end up 1-2 in NL MVP voting this year.
  19. An ex-Twin is being suggested for hitting coach. Shocking.
  20. He'd still drop easy infield fly balls and have range 2-3 steps to the left or right :-)
  21. Gold Glove has gotten better since they started using SABR info as part of the voting. Hosmer being a top 3 finalist at 1B in the AL shows the award still has a ways to go.
  22. Did anyone see 'Goliath' yet?
  23. No one is Kershaw good, except Kershaw. It's Kershaw, then there's a next level. And so on.
  24. Dozier didn't deserve silver slugger over Altuve.
