  1. No evidence of that. It's just that Stubb's has s played awful, save for one year when he was 24 years old when he showed real promise.
  2. I think if Park played 162 games in 2017 he would hit I was confused before, I thought I'd cleared things up, now I'm confused again. Thanks! 45 home
  3. Good answer, but possibly a fake news item.
  4. Thanks. Then ... I looked up it. It appears to be 10 days. "A player designated for assignment goes through a 10-day period on waivers." That is, according to the 2/4/17 StarTrib article written by La Velle Neal III. Park was designated on 2/3 or 2/4, I believe.
  5. How long does Park stay on waivers?
  6. I have to agree. With health and improvement Park could easily swat 30+ home runs in a big league uniform, therefore I would think another team would sign him. However, given that the article is about redundancy, I wonder if any major league teams need a questionable DH at this time?
  7. I have always blamed the rubber mat and I'm serious. He slid and his leg buckled into a man-made substance that wasn't meant to give. He blows out his knee - a month into his career. BS.Rubber on a baseball field. The next two years is very simple: further decline.
  8. Far far too early to say, I'd say. He only had 98 ABs last year in E-Town, He must have been injured part of the year. And as others have mentioned, he performed poorly when he did play. But here's to hoping that one day we have Granite and Cabbage starting for the Twins, just because of their names.
  9. It makes me sad to think of next season with the same players we had in 2016 shuffling around in our heads. Just the words "Danny Santana" make me tired of losing already.
  10. I posted about the signings late last night, then decided I was in over my head analyzing them, so I pulled the post back. But now, because nobody has posted about it, I'm posting. Not too exciting, I don't think. They are both mediocre pitchers and one of them (Vogelsong) will be 40 years old in July and has a career WHIP of 1.4. Yes, he has post-season experience (3 and 5 years ago) ... And the other (Tepesch) would appear to be a AAAA-level starter at best. Ho hum! Where is the new regime? (I know my stats are general, and others will undoubtedly add something more sophisticated and put me to shame - and that's okay).
  11. Metro Dome was the worst by far. Baseball colored roof, damn turf, etc., etc. At the least the A's play outside, often in the sunshine.
  12. and ugly besides. (I used to live there. No place to see a game. But they do have some good drumming and shouting going on the rightfield section)
  13. If he can rust fast enough to them. I presume there will be some funny moments. FYI, I like Plouffe, seems like a fine man. But he runs SLOWLY.
  14. Lots of foul ground to cover ...
  15. What is slow clap? A good thing? Or ... Ok. I looked it up. I deserved that.
  16. Early one winter a trade was brewin I was layin' in bed wonderin if if it’d change anything If Dozier was dressed in blue or red His home runs balls they said their lives together Sure was gonna be rough They never did like his lazy flies and K's Twins’ bank book wasn't big enough And I was readin the side of Twins Daily Rumors fallin' on my shoes Heading out for the west coast or Midwest Lord knows he’s paid some dues Gettin' through Tangled up in n-n-n-n-news
  17. What was the benching about? Are details of any variety known?
  18. Are dreams allowed? I dreamed last night that Dozier was traded for someone I had never heard of, a very underwhelming pitching prospect. I'm not kidding. I dreamed that I read the prospect's name and I was like ... really?
  19. Gauging from Stewart's minor league stats he seems like a #2 to me. K to BB rate of 9.7 / 2.1 over 256 innings. WHIP of 1.115.
  20. In 1398 Johannes Gutenberg, German inventor of the printing press, was born. And later came the Internet, and still later came Twins Daily.
  21. Start a thread. See if it will climb to 1000. Or ... maybe not.
  22. I will not face that proposition. I will turn away from it and face whatever other possibilities there are. Please, please.
  23. Fake News: Twins have traded entire roster to a Mexican team in Oaxaca - plus tacos to be named later.
