Hey, I wrote an email to the Twins a week ago complaining about the electronic strike zone visual on every pitch on TV ... and ... they obviously read MY email and they reacted accordingly.

Weather Underground now says: 7-8 pm = 37% chance of percip. 8-9 pm - 15%, and 15% on into the night.

    Well said!

But Baldelli stayed calm, didn't throw a fit or anything. I didn't mind that.

Is Jake Reed worth calling up?

Cron swung at a pitch so far inside it hit his hand and not the bat. It was ruled a swing and a miss because it didn't hit the bat - what a pathetic swing it was (either way the umpire's call went).

I would imagine that Astudillo is first to be sent down. I disagree though, in that he has an average of 2 plate appearances per game. I would like to see him play more to really find out if he can sustain his stellar batting average. Castro, no matter his awful batting, will remain with the team.

I'm also thinking he must see that the Twins need him and that he can invaluable here.

What if we sign Kimbrel ... we'd be favorites going forward to win the division.

It's my "out" pitch - I only use it when absolutely necessary.

    Prescient sentiment ...

Love his short swing. Cruz has it too.

You know we're ahead when you have time to look at the grass.

Anyone else notice that Daniel Palka is now 0-28 on the season?
  15. ScrapTheNickname
    Not "wreckless" - great catch.

A fireman who goes to the scene then wets his pants is not the answer but it does mean his intentions were good.
  17. ScrapTheNickname
But we're not in the NL. That was my point.
  18. ScrapTheNickname
It did bring out the comments though.

I know it was historically bad, ugly beyond words, high-school style pitching, ineptitude all around, but suddenly it's over, and on to the next inning ... the next next.

Major League baseball? 7 free passes in a row? May be a historical record. Ron Darling, "I've never seen anything like this in my life. Wait, the nightmare isn't over.

Someone tapped your knee and it jerked.
  22. ScrapTheNickname
5 straight free passes and yet we're in the game. Let's cross our fingers that a Mets hitter makes a mistake and swings.
  23. ScrapTheNickname
    Much worse than crud.
  24. ScrapTheNickname
    I'm mad.
  25. ScrapTheNickname
Wild pitch to the backstop - similar to Target Field - runner didn't know how it would bounce back - then made bone-headed move by standing half-way to home plate for too long a time, then ran back to third, and Astudillo put a professional tag on him.
