  1. I’d rather move Polanco to 2B, pick up a one or two year defensive rental at SS (Marcus Semien-type while saving the spot for Royce Lewis), and move Arraez to utility man. Arraez has played some SS in the minors. Polanco could move to SS in a pinch.
  2. I like Bremer. There are many good announcers for other teams as well. However, you appreciate Bremer and the other good ones when you hear a less than good announcer. For example, the radio guy in Kansas City who pronounced words starting with the letter “s” with an “sh” sound - “shwing and a miss”. Nevertheless, to ruin the love fest, I will register some minor complaints on Dick: “Doink” (anyone else getting sick of it?) and calling fly balls nearly to the warning track a “pop-up”. One could like or complain that Dick mdoesn’t have a catch phrase like “touch em all”. My opinion: only use one if the phrase is really good - I was never a fan of the afore-mentioned John Gordon catch phrase and Hawk Harrelson’s “grab some bench” is beyond annoying
  3. No No No. Too old to justify taking on that contract. Also, Darvish and Maeda would have to fight over the number 18 (which in Japan is reserved for the best pitcher on the staff).
  4. I agree. It’s unlikely Maeda will be among those very few players who succeed after 35 years of age
  5. Raunch did not take my suggestion, so I’ll make it to Ober. Your warm-up music should be “I Stand Tall” by The Dictators.
  6. Exclusively use the TC symbol and TWINS as the only Twins insignia. Font being back the M. We are NOT the Mariners.
  7. Keep Eddie for another year - no multiyear deal. He is undervalued by other teams. He makes a decent contribution to the Twins At some point, the Twins need to let some veteran outfielders move on, and let the future start with their many talented and ready younger players
  8. I have tend not to follow the lead of athletes on politics. With Lenny Dykstra, I added financial issues. Now, with Punto, I’ll add epidemiology. I might delete Osterholm too since he took the bait.
  9. If the team wants to bring in fans, the team should be called The Fighting Sioux.
  10. If you want to get technical, the best Twins player not in the Hall of Fane is Joe Mauer. He will be there in his first few years of eligibility.
  11. Torii was a great player for the Twins but not great enough to make HOF. The best Twins player (playing more than 4 seasons here) but not in Cooperstown would be Tony Olivia followed by Jim Kaat.
  12. If the NL goes to a DH, trade Sano for value (which I suspect will be there) and save an outfield spot, 1B and DH (rotation) for Kirilloff abs Larnach. I’m less excited with trading Rosario because his value in the market is not likely to as high as his value to the Twins. Don’t sign Cruz. 2021 is a year to boost our top prospects. The future is bright and the Twins should enter it.
  13. What more can you say about the Twins in Wichita except adding this: A Seven Nation Army Couldn’t Hold Them Back.
  14. Every action (analytics) should have an equal and opposite reaction (anti-analytics). Lefties bunting to third and all hitters hitting opposite field singles is the start. Teach how to spray hits to all fields in the minors along with “launch angle” hitting. I’m cheering for anti-analytics, which is simply trying to react to a team which is over-reliant on analytics with good, old-school baseball strategies and a little element of surprise (doing that counter-analytic, unexpected reaction).
  15. The end of analytics starts with left handed hitters bunting away from the shift to third base. Fight analytics with anti-analytics.
  16. Good info Seth. - BUT. - Maybe just maybe it’s more beautiful watching a catcher quickly rise from the traditional crouch and throw runners out. More effective too.

  18. The other night, I watched Brusdar Graterol pitch a great 1-2-3 inning for the Dodgers. Then I immediately thought: Doesn’t Matter. Maeda led our rotation all season.
  19. Polanco would be a great Super Utility Guy. Better than Trashcan Marwin. Arraez at 2B. Lewis ultimately at short. Blankenhorn and Gordon get to compete for positions too. Outfield of Buxton, Kepler, Kiriloff, Rooker, Rosario, and Larnach (sans two). Kiriloff also backs up Sano at 1B. Then we see how it shakes out. Some will earn spots and others will get demoted or DFAed. It’s time for the Twins Meritocracy.
  20. No problem taking our Berrios who gave up back to back walks. Problem wasn’t starting or relief pitching. It was an anemic offense. Next Spring should see competition from Lewis, Kiriloff, Rooker, Larnach, Balosovic, Duran, Colina and more. It’s time to shake things up and light a fire under this team.
  21. Don’t forget Trevor Larnach. Next Spring is time for serious competition at SS, Corner Outfield and 1B. Marwin should be gone along with Ehire and Avila. Cave, Tortuga, Kepler and Rosario will have to win a spot on this team. Rotation will excel with Maeda, Berrios, Pineda and a bounceback from Odo. The pen needs only one or two tweaks and competition too. It’s time for many Twins players to prove themselves next Spring or it’s bye-bye. .
  22. After wild card series, the playoffs move to “the bubble”. So the only “home field” advantage is “last ups”. What else is there?
  23. It depends on how the opposing line up hits lefties. If that line up has trouble with lefties boost Hill. Otherwise I’d also flip Berrios to #2.
