    This. He plays both Rosario and Kepler vs. Rodon, who is a lefty. Why bring Kepler up here in the first place? They are not going to play him much. If the 40 man is the only reason, well then someone does need to be let go. Guys like Dean on the 40 man are disposable. That Rodriguez dude is tearing it up in AAA. I also trust a 29 year old slumping player (right handed batter) to maybe know how to make adjustments over playing another lefty rookie or 2nd year in the line up last night.

    Get used to it, Molly apparently learned from Gardy and since the twins cannot hit w RISP (or hit in general) we will see a lot of early inning bunts

    The Twins had the worst OB% in the American league last year. Molly said they had to cut down on strike outs. What did the Twins do? They added Park and JMR. Both high strike out guys and both unproven at the major league level. Granted we haven't seen much of Murphy Ryan. The league is cruel in it's ability to make adjustments. Rosario had a .289 ob% last year and tons of strike outs. Based on his track record in the Milb, there is nothing terribly surprising going on here (likely he is seeing more pitches out of the strike zone then ever). Sano, couldn't hit the high fastball last year and he is getting a steady dose of them this year, and now has lost confidence. Buxton never made the transition last year and is still in the process this year. My point is, the Twins were relying on the young kids to carry this team offensively,without any veterans that can carry you on this team. This is a plan that seems shortsighted and mirrors something that is done in a rebuilding year. Regardless, I think they have to stand pat for the most part. I agree with most posters, that smaller moves could and should be made (Arcia hitting more, Kepler should be playing either here or at AAA, Park and Rosario maybe less at bats). We have to see what we have here. If this persists offensively, I would absolutely think Bruno would be the first casualty, although I still think that should be late spring early summer.

    Do we think Mauer's 4 game OPS batting 3rd will hold up? Seems to me we have a rather large recent sample size that says it will not. I agree with Alarp that we need to have some better thought put into who is batting 2nd. However, if Sano et all cannot start contributing, it won't matter if we have terrible OB% guys batting 1st and 2nd.

    I'm not in panic mode...yet. Things are not good and not likely to get better, against the Royals, but Seth to say Fien will be ok? What is that based on the last 2+ years? Even I have to flinch at that statement. Regardless we will only know more about this team as they get past 4 or I would even surmise 10 games, right? The strikeouts, even for this team are alarming, especially after last year Molly made that a specific point to address....

    Deja Vu. Bunting in 3rd inning with a man on 2nd and no outs (with our home run leader from last year at the plate), not pinch hitting for Zuke, not pinch hitting for buxton and pinch running for Dozier of all people.... Maybe Molly didn't manage enough games in spring training and is shaking of the rust? Lot's of similarities to Gardy so far this year. Newsflash: This team might strike out a lot....

    My bad, and thanks for clarifying. Corey said on the radio that he tried to sacrifice the runner to 3rd (in his previous at bat), so I assumed he meant bunt. Maybe he tried, then got 2 strikes and ultimately grounded to 3rd?

    I was disappointed that Suzuki bunted in the 3rd after Esco's double. I was not watching but there was nobody out right? We saw this way too much last year, giving up an out (with nobody out) to get a guy in scoring position to 3rd, early in the game. This wasn't the 7th inning or later. Also new pitcher in, not the dude who was looking like Cy Young. It's bad baseball. I also agree that Suzuki could have been pinched hit for in the 7th, but for sure in the 9th. Esco, May, Pressley looked great.

    I am a chromecast user. On supported apps they absolutely broadcast in HD. Good picture and feed, if your wi fi is decent. If you use Chrome as your browser from a lap top (assuming phone too), you can install chromecast on that, and watch anything on TV as long as you are using google chrome. If what you are watching on google chrome is in HD it will be chromecast to your TV in HD. I use this often when watching my son's college lacrosse games, when I am not there. Hope this is helpful.

    Not gonna argue with your assessment that the Twins have not been one of the better teams in developing their own talent. However, it should be pointed out that Neil Allen, only has one year of service with the team, and by all accounts it was pretty decent. Utilizing the change up is kinda Allen's thing, as many Rays' pitchers can validate. So with that in mind, I'm ok with Duffy working on this 3rd pitch. Last year was a pretty small sample size, so this is one of those times you have to leave it up to the coaching staff, that they know best. Hopefully they are right.

    Batting .080 currently (yes small sample size), but really had blah career numbers in minors. I'm slightly nervous that we are going to see more of Suzuki than we had hoped...

    Nick, to your point later in your article when we traded Hermann for Palka, I thought we actually got something back for Hermann? Then I saw his A ball numbers and I thought, ok what is wrong with this guy...this seems to be a bit much. Anything we get from this guy is gravy, and was an astute move by the Twins FO. Hopefully they start this kid out at AA (which I doubt).

    This is a good point. Nunez can play 3rd, and kinda play short. Not 2nd. DanSan can play short (kind of) and center field.... A weird time to be experimenting with Santana at 2nd

    He's giving Ryan an out to start Nolasco and avoid conflict. I don't agree with it, but we all know how this will play out if Duff cannot get it together (if that hasn't just cemented it).

    Are you saying he has only seen 9 pitches total? Otherwise yes to strike out 3 times you would have accumulated 9 strikes.

    He was very good, better than anyone could expect. Unfortunately I think we had a few years of control left and we went all crazy and then he was terrible. Same with silva...
