  1. This seems a bit condescending. He is a guy born into baseball had a 19 year career and has been a coach at the big league level for 5 years. He is way more qualified then a guy like Moliter who has been on again off again
  2. If the Twins make a surprise trade I would be REALLY surprised if it was Hicks - That would mean the FO is happy with Santana at CF which would also mean Escobar is locked in as the SS of 2015. I keep waiting for the Joe Mauer to Red Sox rumors to start Red sox 1B is Mike Napoli who is kind of a crummy player and they need a LH bat
  3. Two questions: 1 Will Buxton play? Is he recovered? 2 Why doesn't Rogers get strike outs? A lefty who throws hard should be getting more than he is
  4. Injuries have pushed back the rebuild until 2016. The team should be cautious with both players now. It stinks.
  5. Why isn't Gene Glynn getting more consideration? Here is a guy who learned under Madden in the Rays organization. Here is a guy who has won at the AAA level with changing rosters and dubious talent. He is getting no steam
  6. 1 - 6 could be the top prospect in any other organizations
  7. Harrison Ive been up and down on him but now Im up. I too think he can develop power. He is a guy I think will break out one of these years
  8. Hicks will be 25 at the start of the season next year and has yet to play AA ball. His OPS was .751 in High A baseball. I am mildly surprised his is on this list at all. Bret Lee will be 24 next year and might be starting AA next year (not a given). His strike out numbers were way down and his walks were up. But he was injured so he deserves some slack. I think he is about right.
  9. Jorge - is probably the most head scratching performance this year. In a year when lots of prospects went down with injuries, he seemed to stay healthy but just couldn't get Single A prospects out. I think he was a top 20 at the start of the year. Jorge & Eades have to be two of the guys whose rankings fell the most. - Unless Baxendale is not even ranked - To be honest I am surprised Eades is on this list at all. If wasn't a second round pick he would be just another guy,
  10. 2015 Hughes Nolosco Gibson May Meyer Sorry Pelfrey, no room
  11. The injuries to Buxton & Sano + Rosario's disappearance has pushed the rebuild back to 2016. 2015 should be more of the same unless the unexpected happens.
  12. The only player in the entire organization who has more strikeouts than Alex Meyer is Phil Hughes I know Seth likes the "unheralded" type of guys. But...Meyer was nasty all year. I would've put him in the top six
  13. I think thats not right. Baker had very good SO numbers before injury Garza has nice SO numbers Slowey had respectable SO numbers before injury. I would say all 3 of those pitchers "made the grade." Injuries and bad scouting derailed the team.
  14. Kepler stunk it up the first few months and was injured. But he had a better a July now he is is having a great August 349/.404/.512 He is on the 40 man roster, so I wonder if they consider sending him to the AFL again this fall. Are you allowed to repeat?
  15. Trevor Who? Let's bring back Andrew Albers! He at least knows where the bathrooms are at Target Field.
  16. Reports I have read said he can't hit balls with movement and is a guess/mistake hitter. When he connects it goes a long way, but as he faces pitchers who can keep him off balance he will fail. I have never seen him play, but from what I have read/heard, he will struggle in AA because the pitchers are better. If he goes up without changing his approach, he could set records for # of Strike outs
  17. Release/Trade Pino & Johnson - I doubt either are with the team next year Trade Correia - he won't be with the team next year so whats the point? Hughes Gibson Meyer May Milone - see what we have Leave Nolasco on the DL for rest of year When Meyer hits his inning limit, use Darnell
  18. I would like to see Jorge get another shot at CR this year.
  19. Great read. Thanks so much. If you ever get the opportunity to speak to Lucas again it would be really enlightening to know what happened to Baxendale and how a prospect compares to him
  20. John Sickels has Lee labeled as a sleeper too. But he is a 24 year old college pitcher who doesn't get a lot of strike outs. He is one to watch, but no need to get too excited until he is at AA
  21. Their system likes age & and on base %. Thus Polanco is gets love. That also explains the high rankings for Kepler and Harrison.
  22. He doesn't have the pitches to get major league hitters out. So if his control is not perfect then he is going to struggle
