  1. Everything i have read about Luis Arraez tells me he might be a good one. He is young so lots can happen, but he could start to show up on top 30 prospect lists as soon as next year
  2. Why wouldnt you include the GCL Twins? Outside of AA the GCL has the most exciting collection of hitters in the system
  3. Wow E-town has an old Roster. Average age is 22 years old. Which is even older than last year!
  4. I like that GCL roster. There are some real bats in that lineup. And Luis Arraez looks like he could be could be player!
  5. That GCL team has a lot of interesting talent - especially position players. The next next prospect wave might be there
  6. I am surprised Minier is still at the GCL. Last year he hit .292/.405/.520 in 53 games and I am not sure what else he has to prove there. I would've thought he would be in E-town this year with a chance to end the year at CR.
  7. Maybe his power tool is so elite it will give him the ability to overcome his horrid peripherals. Thats my hope for this kid. He could be the exception that proves the rule.
  8. So...it doesn't sound like there any many answers to why he is doing so poorly. So what do the Twins do going forward? It won't be easy to win with a firstbaseman hitting so poorly.
  9. Why not just say "i only follow the Twins and I like Dozier a lot" Off the top of my head, guys I might consider over Dozier for the next 4 years: Kipnis - He is the best at 2B in the league right now. Wong Altuve Espinosa Gordon And this is to take nothing away from Dozier. I am happy he is signed and playing for the Twins as he is playing at an All-Star level. But the hyperbole on this thread is getting carried away.
  10. Calling Dozier "elite" is homeristic-hyperbole at its finest. He is not even the best 2015 second baseman in the AL central. He is a fine player having a great season and everyone should be happy about it. So why ruin it trying to elevate him into something he is not?
  11. Why would you do to this your readership? So many heartbreaks. But at least Rich Becker won't be on this list.
  12. Rogers is deadly against lefties but RH batters seem to eat him up. Is he destined for the bullpen?
  13. Walker is doing amazing things with the bat. But his SOs, BBs, OPB is horrid. - Historically horrid when you compare that to his other numbers. As a prospect he is a bad prospect because he is not improving where he needs to improve. BUT he could be the guy who is the exception that proves the sabermetrical rule because his power is just so damn elite. That power could carry him to the MLB in a few years Or he could be playing for the St Paul Saints in a few years.
  14. Stewart is getting a good amount of ground balls and if he could get a SO an inning he would be a great prospect. I have never seen him pitch but I would guess he is just throwing the ball and not pitching. His good stuff forces batters to put a bad swing on the ball and get a lot of GB outs. As he meets better hitters that will bite him in the ass. His FIP is decent His ERA is OK His BB Rate is decent He doesn't give up much HR He is young enough but he has 156 IP in his career so the "inexperienced" excuse is going away His K rate is pretty stinky Basically Kohl has been a decent pitcher with stuff that the scouts love but he is not getting the results that befit his draft status. I am not ready to throw in the towel on the guy but it would be nice to see him improve after the All-Star break (or his next start)
  15. He turned 17 just a few days ago. If he dominates, maybe. But 7 IP, 4 SO, 3 BB 1 Hit batter and 4 hits. I would say leave him there and let him get comfy.
  16. You do a poor job explaining just why you think the timeline has moved up. I am all for getting Buxton up as soon as possible but Correa has been really good while Buxton has only shown flashes. He has not yet earned a promotion to the MLB team. Furthermore if Buxtion gets called up, Hicks at a corner OF position would be a big problem. He is not hitting well enough to justify that move.
  17. No. Walker's BB/OBP/SO #'s are not as good than those two when they were in the minors.. Both those guys got on base at a higher rate. However, both those guys power numbers are nowhere near Walker. I have not found a guy with the astronomically poor OBP/SO#/BB numbers plus the amazing power numbers as Walker. He really seems unique hopefully he can do it.
  18. If Walker becomes a productive MLB player despite his horrid OB% and his crazy Strike Out numbers, its going to be interesting to see how mathematically inclined folks explain it. I was skeptical going into this season but so far he is showing that one can be productive despite so many unproductive plate appearances. If he makes it to the bigs he might be striking out 40% of the time. But if he is still slugging the way he is slugging, how can you keep him out of the lineup?
  19. I strongly disagree with promoting guys based on the philosophy of "needing to find out how they will do." Lee profiles as a LOOGY type while Hurlbut is organizational filler at best. If they think Hu has more to work on thats one thing. But I have not seen quotes from FO types talking about holes in his game (like we heard with Gonsalves, Meyer and others) The way they are handling Hu just seems odd.
  20. I have a hard time understanding why a Fringe prospect like Brett Lee would be promoted to AA when Hu still sits in at FM
  21. Gordon is really having a terrible May. He is hitting .189 (down from .264 in April) but he is walking at a higher rate then April. Lets face it, the CR line up should not scare any pitcher with talent. Tanner English, Zack Larson & Max Murphy are not doing well and the rest of the CR line up is full of guys who will be lucky to get to Fort Meyers. Are pitchers just not giving him anything to hit?
