  1. Seth, You quoted Mauer as follows: "Ferandez had a heck of an at-bat." Did he really say "heck?" The whole Mauer family can't be so polite can they?
  2. Whichever of these guys make it hopefully they learn how to play defense before they come up. Watching Santana and Arcia play defense reminds me how unprepared Plouffe and Dozier were when they tried to be shortstops. This organization seems to have a penchant for bringing up guys who are not defensively capable. Hopefully that gets corrected in the next wave of youngsters.
  3. Have they stopped teaching defense in the minors? Remember how terrible Dozier was at SS? Or that Plouffe had to learn 3B at the MLB level? Now watching these new guys stumble and bumble makes me think there is an organizational lack of focus on defense at the minor leauge system. Bring back TK!
  4. I am hoping to hear more about Jorge's start from the lucky folks in CR. Is his velocity back? If so his reemergence might force us to amend prospect lists.
  5. One more trend, the outfield defense looks horrible. Bad reads missed throws and just plain amateurish play. Moliter needs to fix that and fast.
  6. Today's pitching lineup features three former top prospects who have fallen out of favor. Wimmers - former 1st round pick Eades - former 2nd round pick Jorge - the darling of 2014 prospect lists Should be an interesting day.
  7. Cedar Rapids roster looks a bit old to me. Lots of 22 & 23 year olds. Am I wrong?

  9. One good thing about Smith was he spent the money Target Field was bringing in. Ownership wanted him gone because he wanted to increase the payroll. Ownership was giving the vote of confidence. He presented his offseason plan to fix the team. He was fired soon after, Ryan was rehired and Ryan slashed payroll while ownership banked the revenue from the Taxpayer funded stadium. Smith wasnt a good GM but he spent money that Ryan would not. I would bet 5 of my own dollars if Ryan was the GM Sano would be in Pittsburgh now.
  10. If Polanco could add power to his game he could supplant Sano and Buxton. Its way too early to make any projections and he will hit bumps in the road but wow I am excited to get his bat in Minnesota
  11. He is a 22 year old former college pitcher. Does he have some kind of injury history?
  12. Dougie Baseball should have left Burdi in. If he is your closer let him close.

  14. Are the Twins taking an unnecessary risk by having Cederoth remain a starter? Also any word on Jorge's velocity?
  15. Huh? Lee is an OK prospect but he struck out 54 in 106 IP as a 23 year old. Thats not good. He has a nice ERA with questionable peripherals.
  16. The Outfield defense will be below average. Santana is a question mark at SS and with the bat. The bullpen is likely to be leaky. Hughes Dozier and Suzuki are candidates to perform below 2014 levels. I want to be wrong but I just dont see it happening.
  17. Well this is just great. What a bummer this has all become.
  18. From some of the quotes it sounds like like May didnt get a fair shot. Seems they had their mind on Milone from the start. What a bummer.
  19. I think he gets sent down the first day of cuts. The twins just dont like to risk spring injuries to young guys (and the financial implications that come with a minor leaguer getting injuried during spring) But I would bet a some cash that if he is healthy he is on the twins roster before July.
  20. If Sano can't play third his value drops considerably.
  21. Is it too optimistic to hope that 4 players graduate from prospect status to MLB regulars this year? (May Meyer Rosario and Sano) If that happens it means the big league club might have some struggles, but I would still like to see those kids play.
