What do you base this on? Some quotes from Dougie Baseball? His SO rate is 35.8%!!! That suggest to me he IS up there hacking. I suspect the FO is putting those quotes out there in the hopes they could've traded him. He is seeing a slight uptick of Walks, but that has correlated with a big drop in his OPS. The numbers suggest he is being hurt by Sano being out of the line-up. He no longer has that protection so pitchers can throw Walker even more junk that he just can't lay off.

I never trust Yankee prospects. They are often overhyped. Even prospect watchers seem to buy into the NYC hype machine.

We've seen lots of young International FA pitchers do nice things in the rookie leagues only to flame out as they get up to A ball. But I like that Del Rosario cut down on his walks. He had pretty bad control in the DR league, didn't look great in the bullpen as a 19 year old in the GCL but he has adjusted and kept the walks down and got his strike outs up. Good adjustments from the young fella! 45 SO, 7 BB 37 IP and its looks like he is getting a bunch of ground balls. Is there any reports on his pitches?

The OF defense was really bad last year with Willingham & Arcia at the corners and its fun to watch athletic OF'ers going after a ball instead of tripping over feet

I am curious, why do you track isolated discipline? What does it tell you about a player? Isolated discipline never seemed useful to me. I am not a huge stat guy but i find bb% more useful.

I wonder why they promoted Diaz. He is hitting better recently singles but his power numbers are not great. Dont he and Minier play the same position (DH)

Twins Minor League Report (8/6): Kohn Stewart Shines in Miracle Walk-Off
clutterheart commented on Eric R Pleiss's blog entry in Beyond the Metrodome
Navarreto's hot 2nd half continues. Its great to see a 20 years old at low A make adjustments and save his season. But I doubt he can stay at catcher for more than a few years. He is a big boy at 6' 4" 220 lbs. Seems like he will out grow his catcher equipment!- 2 comments

Landa has been pitching well since he came back from his shoulder issues. Do any of the CR contingent have any reports on the guy? Has his velocity came back?

Are the folks in Rochester getting squirrelly over many of the top prospects skipping AAA? I heard there was disappointment that Sano and Buxton didn't get there. Now if Kepler skips I wonder if there will be a full revolt!

Zander Wiel- has a busted hand - he got hit by a pitch and is at least 4 weeks out. Brusdar Graterol - I think I read that he is too young to play in the GCL? He turns 17 later this month so maybe he will start then Taylor Clemensia - He was playing in the Europe Jr Championships and I don't think those are over yet so he is probably still in Europe

Article: Draft Gem Duffey Set To Debut
clutterheart replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Duffey looks to be an OK starter pitcher but I suspect he is going to give up a lot of hits. He will be dependent on the D making plays behind him. Hope he does well but I would rather see Berrios or May. Both of those guys have a chance to be impact pitchers in the bigs and should be the arms getting the priority. The future of the org would be better served getting May back to starting and Berrios in the MLB rotation ASAP. -
There are three 19 year old hitters on this list! Not bad!

Lachlan Wells and Blankenhorn are having nice starts to their careers! Last I heard Wells was throwing in the 90s. Is that still true? Are there any reports on his pitches?

Slegers is taller than Meyer, does he suffer from the same delivery/mechanics/repeatability issues? Has his velocity improved or is it still in the high 80s low 90s?

Gordons strong second half continues! Hopefully he get a bit of power as his man muscles start to form. Will the Twins promote him to FM so he can play for a team with a chance for the playoffs?

All Luis Arraez & Jermaine Palacios do is hit and hit. I especially like the bat control Arraez keeps showing.

Brett Lee is not getting lefties out this year, He didn't do well against lefties in FM and it continues in AA. At the start of the year I thought he would be another leftie bullpen candidate but if he can't get left handed hitters out his future is in trouble.

It would be interesting to know what happened with Vargas. I have heard rumblings he did/said something while at AAA. Its surprising because he came off as a guy with a good head on his shoulders. But right now the speculation is his attitude is souring. Unless something changes he could be a DFA candidate.

Why the heck would they replace Kepler with a pitcher? The roster doesn't have a back up outfielder? Thats embarrassing.
