    Twins starting pitching has seemed to be doing their job, with the exception of Lynn so far and obviously Hughes who appears to be out, but even when they aren't their best they have been seemingly able to hold the team in the games. The bullpen, different story. However, if the Twins bats wake up, and they can get Sano and Buxton back in the everyday lineup I think the twins can definitely come back and compete for something this year. As far as bunting goes, I feel it's a useful tool, but you have to have players that are good at it in order to use it. I mean a ban saw is also a very useful tool, but I wouldn't want someone trying to make **** with it if they never practice with it? You just end up losing some fingers. If I had Rod Carew on my team I would have him bunt into the MLB shifts every single at bat. But he obviously practiced bunting, a lot, and because of it, no team in their right mind would ever dare put a shift on him, which would open up the whole field for him again. The problem is that for the most part not many MLB players practice bunting enough to be able to effectively use that tool. Suicide squeeze plays are a rarity but if you put that play on you need to be 100 percent sure your guy can get that bunt down.

    Yeah, Im not completely in gripe mode, but it seems like the human element favors teams such as the Yankees and such. If the human element was just that all the way around and everyone got affected the same then I would be ok with it. But you know Clayton Kershaw gets borderline calls that someone like Berrios won't get. If it was all equal I'd say leave the human element in there, but it doesn't seem to be equal.

    Offer him the qualifying offer and then after he rejects it offer him a 3 year big money deal and then let him troll for better offers. If he gets better offers they can either counter them or bid him farewell and move on to Gordon? If he doesn't get better offers then keep the deal on the table and bring him back. Simple,

    That's not a very good use of Rodney? Id think that would be the perfect time to bring in Pressley or one of those guys. Bring Rodney in only when you have the lead, to me that is a plain as it gets?

    Hey guys take it easy on Polanco, I talked to his doctor and he isn't sure why anyone is making such a fuss about this. He said that Polanco was diagnosed with Low T over the winter and they were just trying to remedy that.

    True, and I'm not going to look it up myself, because my gut tells me what my answer would be, but just for giggles, what was his career OPS in Fenway?

    I think playing in Fenway had more to do with Ortiz than possible juicing. I mean look how Mo Vaughn did when he left Fenway and landed in Anaheim. I think big left-handed bombers can put together Hall of Fame careers turning out side fastballs into doubles off the wall in Boston. Anywhere else they are fly balls.

    My guess is that Kinley has made it this far, he's going to stick around for a month and if he does ok he'll get another month. If he does well for a couple of months then he's here for the duration and goes to AAA next year. Just my guess at this point.

    Yeah all those off days at the beginning of the year seems weird, it always seems to be like this, but wouldn't you think a few extra off days in the middle of the season would make it easier to schedule make up games?

    Idk, I'll give him a chance for sure, seems like his only really bad year was last year? Still has the stuff, seemed to do ok the previous 3 or so years, kinda hard to give up on him.

    This, I know there are kids in high school taking stuff and most everyone else knows too, but no one says anything. It is still going on.

    It seems that most pitchers that strikeout a lot of guys have high pitch counts.

    Yeah however with Berrios, he was selected as the futures all star starting pitcher for two years in a row!! So Gonsalves and Romero at this point in time are not at the same level as Berrios was. They seem to be close, but not quite there yet, hopefully they do that in AAA this year and then next year they can take over for guys like Lynn when they walk??

    Would you give Cobb the same offer Lynn got? 2/$20mil? Well I think if the Twins really want him they need to offer like 2/25 or 26 maybe with some incentives that could add a couple million per year. I think 2/20 those guys just kinda snarl at, but add 2 to 3 million and it might be kinda hard to pass on? One thing to consider is that Erv is on the DL and let's face it he pitched above his head last year, once he works his way back he most likely won't be the same pitcher as he was last year. Second thing is the draft pick, yeah people can cry about a draft pick but it's only one pick, so to put that in perspective, over the last 10 years how many of the Twins draft picks have turned out to be a pitcher as good as Cobb? If I do my math correctly, I think, what, zero?? So one pick shouldn't scare them, yeah use it as leverage to say hey, we are giving up a pick for you, so that's why we are offering 2/25, but in reality I don't think the pick is worth that much. Now it's up to the Twins, if they want to roll Hughes and or Sanchez out there all year then don't bother. I think the lineup is probably good enough to carry them again, but I am of the mindset that they probably shouldn't count on Santana to even come close to repeating last year's numbers
