  1. If he doesn't deserve that kind of Loyalty from Pohlad, then Gardy doesn't deserve it from Ryan either. If have 2 people saying the exact same thing: Pohlad said that Ryan is the GM as long as he wants and Ryan says that Gardy is the manager as long as he is the GM. Neither one should be the case.
  2. You are correct, I had it correct the first time and confused myself and changed it. With the DH on Saturday, there are 35 game days left (since they are bringing up a special pitcher for game 1), Which means that he should get 7 starts especially since Gardy doesn't typically skip guys when there is an off day. But the rest of my math is correct.
  3. I got an ESPN notification on my phone stating: Terry Ryan indicated that as long as he is GM, Gardenhire will be the managaer.
  4. While Hughes has had an excellent season, unfortunately he has very little chance to get 200 Strikeouts. There are 36 games left which means that Hughes will have 5 mores starts. He needs to average 7.5K's per outing to hit 200. So far this season he has only SO more that 7 in a game 5 times. My guess is that he will finish with 180-190 K's.
  5. This year, the only blue alternative jersey is the "Minnesota" Jersey. They dropped the "Twins" option.
  6. Sure, ruin my theory with facts.
  7. Because they don't have 5 starters that can go 5+ innings on a regular bases. Every starter will have a bad outing every now and then and get lit up, but the Twins' will have 2 do it almost every time through the rotation. So they need 2 long men as Gardy's policy is to rest a pitcher 1 day for every inning pitched.
  8. You can say what you want about Fangraphs, but according to them Correia's value with the Twins has been $11M so far. Considering we will only pay him $10M, I'd see they got their money's worth.
  9. I agree that Colabello is the 1st man demoted. I forgot all about Parms Option Status and for some reason I thought that Nunez was an infielder and the bench was thin for infielders. Since they are both outfielders and given Parms Option situation, I agree that Nunez would be #2 on the demotion list (for position players).
  10. While Pino has performed well and deserves to keep pitching, he is a 30 year old soft tossing ROOKIE.
  11. I'd be very surprised if they dump KC and eat the remainder of his salary.
  12. They have to find a taker for Correia first. I don't think May will be called up until Correia is gone.
  13. I don't think that they will call up May for just one start and send him back down again. Keep in mind that Mauer is probably going to be activated Monday and Nolasco around 8/15. I think they will actually have Deduno start on Saturday. Colabello will get sent down for Milone and either Nunez or Parmelee will get sent down when Mauer gets activated. Then Pino will get sent down to make room for Nolasco.
  14. With the off day today, they don't need the 5th starter until Saturday. I'm almost positive that it will be Milone.
  15. Regarding Milone being assigned to AAA, I believe that Brock reported that he pitched on Tuesday so he wouldn't be able to replace Darnell or Pino who pitch today and tomorrow. My guess is that Darnell will be optioned out after his start tonight and Milone will be recalled to pitch on Tuesday.
  16. I see you mention it delaying the game. In my opinion it doesn't. He has plenty of time to adjust while waiting for the batter to get in the box.
  17. I realize that Worley has only pitched in 8 games (7 starts) for the Pirates, but last night he tossed a 4-hit shutout on the road against the Giants. He has a 2.54 ERA this year. Small Sample size or is Anderson overrated?
  18. The new site looks great. I have a question. I used to view the forums by clicking "what's new" or something like that. I can still do that on the mobile site, but I can't find it on the desktop site. Is that feature still here?
  19. I believe this suggestion was for the tiebreaker, not overall.
  20. I agree that it takes to long. They should drop a round. Just take the top 2 from each league after the 1st round. Have the Semi-finals and then the AL vs NL Finals. That way you eliminate the bye and don't have Bautista and Stanton sitting for 2 hours between rounds.
  21. What announcing team is going to bad mouth their boss in public? While Dick & Bert and Gladden & Provus are on FSN and K-TWN respectively, they were hired by and are employed by the Twins. They are not going to publicly state that Gardenhire should be fired.
  22. I agree with you 100%. In Phil Hughes case he is currently scheduled to start the last game before the break so he would be out.
  23. I know of a couple that do. I buddy of mine lives in Burnsville. He lives about 5 miles from the transmitter of one of the news talk radio stations. He can't pick it up, but I can 100 miles away. That being said, KTWN has a Class C3 license which means that it can transmit up to 25kW and have an antenna height of 100m. They are no where near their limit (19kW and 77meters). Apparently in the FM world, the antenna height is more important than the transmission power.
  24. I agree that many of the reception problems has more to do with building blockage than power.
  25. I agree 100%. I live in outstate MN and it is impossible to find a reliable affiliate that I could pick up to listen to the games. I've been paying for MLB AT Bat for about 3-4 years and it is well worth the $20/year.
