  1. I thought you Canadians preferred the three letter dipthongs.
  2. I know the ERA looks nice, but I find it really tough to get excited about Jorge. He's striking out 6.4/9IP in AA, and while he's young, we aren't talking as young as Gonsalves or Romero. I do think that Jorge and Gonsalves (in particular) should be headed to Rochester in the next week or two, but other than 40 man adds at the end of the year, I don't see either in MN other than that September cup of coffee.
  3. Kolton Kendrick has an OPS of 2.100 and a four figure ISO... I think we need to expect that out of him every day...
  4. I do hope they have enough cash to bring this kid in. That's usually what those HS picks are for after round 10. Grab a few and see which one(s) will jump on board for whatever cash you have left.
  5. Interesting info. That said, in our case there's plenty of 40 man chaff that can be let go... but I can see a scenario where this makes sense. I'm sure the player won't mind getting major league pay (and back pay) along with a crack at FA quite a bit sooner.
  6. I'm pretty excited for Hildenberger. I got to meet him at ST in 2016. He is a nice guy. I hope the Twins give both him and Busenitz a reasonably long leash at this point, as both of shown in AAA that they are ready for a taste.
  7. They may give him another start or two, but I'd be pretty surprised if he wasn't in AAA some time in July.
  8. yeah, we should see a bunch in the next week or two. I suspect Gonsalves would be on that list to head to AAA.
  9. Side note, I do have high hopes for Trevor May next year, especially if he had the shorter TJS surgery
  10. I wouldn't get a mediocre FA for one. I'd spend big there. They will need pitching now and in 3 years. May as well get a good one.
  11. I would argue that Gonsalves will be a legitimate option to head north with the team in 2018, but he could very well start in AAA too. Other than a September cup of coffee, I don't expect to see him here this year.
  12. qualified or unqualified, Rosario is major league average at the plate, and if you're using WAR, everyone has already pointed out to you why that is. I'm not trying to be a Rosario apologist. I do, however, think you are being very unreasonable in your assessment of his skills.
  13. I doubt anyone will argue with you about the RPs, because the FO's behavior there is definitely odd, but we have also all seen what happens when a young player is called up too soon. Just look at Hicks, Buxton, or Berrios.
  14. We are saying that your conclusion of him being "not good" is wrong. He's an average player right now, but just about every metric you look at. That's not great, but it is not the weak link on this team. I would also add that with his offensive metrics trending in the right direction, his offensive output is likely to start changing, and that is a very good thing for Eddie as well as the Twins. I'm not saying he cannot improve, but I am saying, he is not the problem here.
  15. I did that in another post just a few days ago. I didn't do SS comparisons as he's not an SS. Rosario is an MLB league average hitter. The numbers have likely changed slightly, but he is basically a league average hitter and slightly below average for LF. I think we need to have some reasonable expectations at the moment. Given his age and success thus far, there is little reason to think that he cannot have a successful MLB career. He may not be an all star, but he can be an above average player. Again, if he can be upgraded, I'd do it. But I don't see Palka or Granite being an upgrade (not yet at least).
  16. In all honestly, only Gonsalves will likely move up to AAA, so this kind of signing doesn't really surprise me. Romero could potentially go too, but I think there's a stronger case for letting him spend more time in Chatty. I don't mind throwing darts at the 4A types in hopes that one becomes something of use. I just hope that this offseason there is a bit more effort put in place to fix the rotation.
  17. Rosario is not the problem on this team. If he can be upgraded, by all means do so, but even with that sickly OBP, his OPS sits right around the MLB league average. Defense has to get factored here too, and that throw certainly shows where he's lacking, but he's generally been a decent defender for what it's worth. With Granite being hot, I do think it makes sense to swap someone, and if that's Eddie so be it. I don't think Buxton should be given a free pass here either, though in his defense he's been hitting better again of late, and that is certainly worth considering. As for trading him, I'm not sure what he can get. This plate discipline, while trending in the right direction, certainly hasn't been fixed. If a team was willing to send back a similar pitcher with similar control, I'd consider making the move personally. Would another team though?
  18. Quiet game thread day... Ok let's spice this up. A practical use for a cat https://www.facebook.com/ajplusenglish/videos/770349336439909/
  19. I'll say this Chicago does have some nice open air bars up on roof tops... I'll also note that those seem to be the areas where the beautiful people like to hang out... that and ugly guys who have diamond status with the hotel that runs said bar....
  20. This is the part that doesn't get talked about with regards to promotions. Minor league teams have rosters too, and someone going up means someone else going down or out. It's a big reason why this type of things doesn't happen consistently until after the draft/ASB.
  21. I vote that the brown things are zombies that have had their head and shoulders removed. I think the green guy is a Buddha impersonation completed by a Wall-E clone.
  22. he was DFAd in the offseason and has bounced around since then.
  23. Unless there's an empty spot on the 40 man, someone has to get the DFA for Busenitz. Personally, I would go with Wilk here.
  24. Wimmers is the 26th man.... not sure who is getting the DFA.
  25. Not a lot of power, but a great OBP and very respectable... hope that continues as he's quite a bit younger than the league.
