I'm kind of in the same boat, but your mom's dad only gave her one X chromosome. The other one came from her mom... That said, I suspect that the rate of baldness is controlled elsewhere, the primary gene for baldness is on the X chromosome. -

It's your mom's fault if you have it. The baldness gene is on your X chromosome, and you only get that from your mom. It's more common in men since men only have one X chromosome. To see if you're at risk, pay attention your mom's dad or those on your grandmothers side of the family.

nature did that to me at the ripe old age of 21. I'll warn you though, she doesn't do a very good job and leaves a lot around the sides. My adivce, get a wet-dry razor and use it in the shower and finish the job.

You're missing my point I'm not saying he's a GG. I am saying that he's under control for 2 years and EVEN IF he puts up a .900 OPS playing GG defense, I'd still trade him. As someone else mentioned, decline will kick in for him sooner than later (though I'm not sure it will be on his current contract) and we have a nice promising player in Polanco who has nothing left to prove in the minors. I'm not sure Polanco can ever do what Dozier has done this year, but I think Polanco can be above average at the plate and in the field.

Wade is now officially younger than his league (1.5 years) as well. I have to agree. SSS, so obviously take it with a grain of salt, but he's looking like a late round gem.

to be clear, you're most likely right. I just don't think it's wise to simply toss out a candidate simply b/c they are internal. I'd be more interested in knowing if they are able to identify what said problems are.

I enjoy reading Gleeman and often find myself agreeing with him, but unbiased is not a word I'd use to describe him

Not disagreeing. It all depends on the internal dynamics, none of which we have access to. Perhaps said candidate has been very vocal for a while, and has largely been shoved aside but still valued for being contrary... who knows. I personally tend to lean towards an external candidate (to be clear), but I don't think they should simply toss anyone b/c they already work there... especially if said internal candidate is looking externally to fill several roles.

True, but he has gone long stretches with OPS over .800 (and to date has one I might add). Granted the slumps count to, though some of that is explainable. I think Polanco can be a good player. I don't think it's a given he will be better than Dozier. I do think he can be an above average 2B, which is why I trade BD every day. 2 more years, even if BD puts up a .900 OPS while playing GG defense, and then he's an FA taking the highest dollar and entering his decline... right when the team is entering its prime. Makes little sense to keep him.

Agree on the external hire, not so much on the internal. Plenty of internal candidates can/will usher change. It might be more based on who the internal candidate was that would answer that question.

Did Gleeman not sit down with him? If so, that's rather disappointing. Honestly, this is the first I've read this and that interview with Antony has been cited extensively here and elsewhere. This says more about the guy than anything else I've read. If anything, that he learns from his mistakes. It would be nice if he got that opportunity to clarify. He deserves that.

Yeah, I want Polanco up, but I think BD is probably the route best served to get him up. And I have to think BD can generate a decent return. Keep Sano at 3rd for now. Mauer, yeah, he's a problem on the team. Not one that is going to get fixed this season, or quite possibly the next two. Hopefully new management moves him more to a bench role as better options are available. It's an expensive bench role, but given his production, it has to be considered... unless of course he's suddenly amenable to going back behind the plate.

No, not really. All four have been identified as people most on this board want to trade. Nunez is probably the only one that I'd rather keep, but even that would be an exception if the right offer came along. All four also have the advantage of being on short deals. All four are also blocking guys in the high minors (OK, maybe not Suzuki) who look like they could be decent future pieces.

For the most part, he said the right things in his strib interview. I just hope he's willing to take a long hard look at that perception that he's not convinced is true.

I think (hope?) you're correct here. Antony hasn't done much to impress me to be honest. My biggest concern is that he's going to be more of a bill smith guy with the trades coming up. You may not like the value we get back. Hopefully, he's smart enough to rely on his scouts/analytics here.

This doesn't really surprise me. Really curious what they could get for these guys. Not expecting much in Abad/Kintzler, but that opens up spots for Melotakis/Chargois. Honestly, that's probably more a win than anything as these guys need experience and could have a bright future.
