  1. Because Ryan would have traded more than this? I don't think TR moves that many guys at the deadline... call me nuts. Also, not thrilled about Meyer. I'd rather have DFAd Nolasco personally.
  2. Unfortunately, I think that's more a Pohlad constraint than anything... but yes, I agree.
  3. I remember him... that fast ball was so fast it was invisible.
  4. You should probably elaborate. Minor league K rate over 9, keeps the ball in the park, and minimizes his walk rate. Might not be that ace upside we want, but certainly looks like he could be a decent starter. The bigger problem I see is that getting guys like that and Mejia, are they going to continue to trot Milone and Nolasco out...
  5. To be clear, I'm fine with that. I just think it would be strange to announce Duffey to the pen and then send him to Rochester a day later.
  6. Duffey is headed to the pen, so unless Boshers is sent down or Kintzler is traded, Chargois is still in AAA
  7. Unfortunately, I don't think the Twins have much in terms of capital to get something more than bottom end of top 100. Dozier would be the only exception in my mind. I'm just glad that Antony does appear to be moving pieces. Not sure I'm thrilled about Santana (depending on the return)...
  8. If we did that, there might be a few asking that Antony sticks around longer...
  9. yeah, no real complaints about Abad for light. If that's the going rate for relievers, I'm fine with it. Now let's get Kintzler out the door so we have an open spot for Chargois. 10+K/9 is pretty nice. Walk rate is too high at over 4. Not a standout prospect, but 5 years of control and potential to be a back of the pen option is nice. Can never have enough of those.
  10. Already posted earlier this week, if he got credit for his lost 2013, he's at 2 years and a sept call up of ML service time at the end of the year. Someone else noted that he only had 20 some days at the beginning of this season (meaning he didn't get credit for 2013). The kid has lots of service time. May not have options, but he has service time, and I'd much rather watch a guy like that struggle in the rotation than a guy like Milone or Nolasco.
  11. Well, two guys prior to Aug 1 non-waiver deadline... that's more action than what we've seen in ages... Now let's clear Suzuki, Nolasco, Milone, and Kintzler... and get a blow my socks off offer for Dozier.
  12. You're wrong on Bundy's service time. But yes, I expect the price to be high.
  13. I'd want more for Suzuki personally. I'd probably sell at the end of the day with the best offer, but flier is not what I'd be too interested in. Lucroy netted 4 prospects, one of which was top 100. Yes, he's a better option, but there's no reason why Kurt shouldn't have a nice return.
  14. Nolasco will clear waivers... I can promise that. If some GM was stupid enough to claim him, the Twins will let them have him...
  15. The fact that Dozier's name isn't showing up in the rumors says all I need to know about that. I think he should be traded, but I'm expecting that to be the next GMs problem. Suzuki, Abad, and Kintzler.... I'll be disappointed if at least two of them aren't gone by this afternoon.
  16. yeah, the only way I flip Erv is if I'm blown away. He may not be here when the team is ready to contend, but he does provide a nice placeholder and a mentor for the younger guys. I just want to see guys like Milone and Nolasco gone since they are occupying roster spots that should be used by said younger guys. I don't care if there is no value for them. DFA then at that point.
  17. My dad lost his... same story. No idea what happened to shoe boxes full of cards that had Mays, Aaron, and Mantle in them.
  18. I've got to think that they have deals in place for Abad and/or Kintzler. They may be waiting on the outcomes of the other team's option A, but I'm guessing that is just a matter of filing paperwork... or at least that's what I hope.
  19. Out of options, quite possible. Not sure. Arb eligible? Even if he got a full year of service time credit for his lost 2013 season (and I have no idea if this happened), he would still only have 2 full seasons and a September call up on his resume.
  20. Probably. I just know that contending teams don't necessarily have the ability to spend time and develop guys. I'd almost prefer to send multiple trade chips over to get one top talent guy who is ready vs. a bunch of lotto tickets. Of course, if Baltimore wouldn't do it (and they probably wouldn't) the point is moot.
