  1. In Canadian, or is it Canadien, that means "not far enough"
  2. Dear whine line, first time caller first time listener, first time I didn't know the answer to a question, do you think Plouffes DP problems are related to hitting too many ground balls? Having runners on base in front of him? Or lack of foot speed?
  3. You should re figure, I don't think he is hitting anywhere near that!
  4. No matter what, I like to watch Gomez run!
  5. You can have a large strike zone, or you can have a small strike zone, but when you have both at the same time, THATS when you get in trouble!
  6. If you want to see really nice wall murals go to Ashland WI, the whole downtown is full of some really nice ones.
  7. I think Dave has some left over, he buys them by the case lot!
  8. I don't think that's the mentoring TR was so loquacious about. Of course when you only are making it safely to 1b once in every 15 AB, running hard seem a waste!
  9. Special is only one of many words that come to mind. But most of the others are not G-Rated!
  10. I have never experienced a play by play of a Hungry Man Dinner. This could get exciting. Maybe when you get to the stomach pumping part, Marney Gellnar can do a live emote, and Dick can circle you!
  11. have never heard the. They are worse?
  12. I get so tired of listened to Dick/Roy, that I look forward to the interviews with the people from Minot in the stands! They should give Roy the scratch offs, it would keep him busy!
  13. When they coined the phrase, "into each life a little rain must fall" I do no think they had this in mind!
  14. There is a lot to be said for a catcher that can hit and play defense. There is something to be said for a catcher that can do one of the two. There is nothing to be said for a catcher who can't do either. Kurts recent little streak belies the fact that his spot in the lineup has been a black hole. And his throwing deficiencies are masked by a puzzling lack of attempts considering his throw out %. And no, I am not calling for Turner this late in the season. That train has left the station.
  15. Randy Moss tried that in, I think, Green Bay? It was not well received! For the record, I thought it was hilarious.
  16. My point exactly! For if the river were on the walk, it would require one to walk on water. And there are few of us with that ability! :)
  17. While there is a chance for cats to be on a cat walk, there are no cakes on a cake walk, and no rivers on a river walk! But don't dismiss walks out of hand. The Twins place great emphasis on walks! Both thrown and taken. Little known fact. There is previous history to the term cat walk in baseball that precedes domed stadia. In the fifties, the late, not that great, Ray Katt took 74 free passes in 8 years. These rare occurrences were widely referred to as (wait for it) Katt Walks!
  18. If Plouffe and Hunter aren't gone next year the whole roster construction remains the mess it currently is. This is not a commentary on Plouffes ability. He is the odd man out. Sano will field like Plouffe did 2 years ago, and like Plouffe will likely improve. This could be a special team by mid 2016, if TR makes some tough decisions.
  19. Luckily the FO is not fooled by peripheral numbers like these and is able to drill down to the only numbers that matter, productive outs and strike outs!
  20. I too like May in the pen this year, and agree with the need to upgrade it with power arms. The best of both worlds though will be for a Jay or Burdi to come around and let May start. Highabove mentioned the 6th inning as a BP starting "time". That seems the new normal. For years Gardy had a set 7, 8, and 9 guy. It was automatic. Now it seems another is necessary. This is only one of many roster decisions that will cause TD users to search for SFW synonyms for "I can't f#%*£g believe they did that!
  21. Two thoughts: What made this so strange to me, is it was made by Mr. "I have pinch hit for almost nobody this year" Molitor. And, I agree with Brian, the Twins might look into putting at least one better hitter on the bench. Saying your having no luck PH this year, with this bench, is like saying your having no luck getting eggs, but all your chickens are roosters. It's not luck, it's poor coop management!
  22. I was just thinking about the same thing earlier today, but more on the lines of: Should Robinson not be starting in front of Hunter regularly? For all the grief Robinson has taken, he has been quietly much more productive in the last month than Torii. I apologize for using a game thread for baseball related discussion, I promise it won't happen again!
  23. I would be surprised if he brings him up. Ryan will likely lean on the innings limit thingy again. That said, someone else who called for his promotion made a point of mentioning Berrios use in high leverage situations. That is not normally the "Twins Way". And if they are not going to actually use him when it really counts, then they should not burn a year to use him in Graham type of work. This is not to suggest I think Berrios is not capable, it just means I don't think they will trust important innings to him. The Duffey experiment was so far successful. But it was driven by necessity. Without injuries, neither Duffey, Buxton, or I think even Hicks would even be here. TR prefers to dip his toes into well aged water.
