    The secret to Ryan's genius is that he waited so long to announce this that the decision makes sense. The real issue is why wasn't he brought up 4-6 weeks ago? It's like carrying an umbrella around in Tuscon for weeks, and then when it rains yelling, "I told you I needed an umbrella"! Maybe innings limits come into play, but the bottom line is the 40 man issue. I tend to think Ryan's decisions are based on business, injuries and talent, in that order. No way is Buxton or Duffey here without injuries to the roster. I am not sure about Sano, but I think it fair to say he wasn't rushed into the majors either. Maybe watching Suzuki DH was even more than he could stand?

    I bet that decision was made in late July when they didn't bring him up to help the BP! But no one told us, or him!

    You could hear some of what Ploof said on TV. I thought one of the words was one Bert got suspended for? Anyway, I did no know you could use language like that to MLB umpires. You can't even do that to MN town ball umps.

    TR might still think he passes the "eye test"! It was really obvious last night how he was jumping the fast ball, and hoping to catch up to one. I was really surprised they threw him as many as they did.

    An interesting piece by Bernadino regarding Berrios, the 40 man roster, and the names of those who have to be put on that list or become rule 5 eligible. I am by no means conversant in roster maneuverings, but this could be one of the issues holding him back?     You're right, that was a cruel story! . Fortunately they discontinued this barbaric practice, or the instruction, "left turn Clyde" would not have had anywhere the same comedic (and jaw) impact!

    I might note that any speculation that Berrios will go north in March 2016 ignores TR, Twins history, and the logjam of large contracts to mediocre veterans. I might also add that if your perception that he was told he was in effect auditioning for a call up, pitched to these numbers, and then was left sitting, is factual it would explain some of the seemingly unexplained poor performances by certain players. Many Ryan promotions are injury driven. I am not sure Buxton would have appeared at all in Mpls. If not for Hicks getting hurt twice.

    For me the Berrios train left the station about a month ago, when the BP was REALLY struggling. Between innings count and service time, I doubt you will see him. And as far as using some semi exotic injury rules manipulation to bring him up in Sept, that does not seem a TR trait at all. Kepler: both the fans, and the Twins FO who use either Sano or Hicks as examples of whether his bat is MLB ready, don't really know. Players come up and suck, and players come up and rake. Some who suck get over it, and some who rake initially get sent down for awhile. The Twins always tend towards the very conservative approach, and if you could be the proverbial mouse in the corner, I guarantee service time is the deciding factor involved.

    I hope this whole deal with Oswaldo gets figured out, from both the FO and his side. He seems to be getting the Brian Dozier treatment from a few years ago. Players that can hit like Arcia, don't just forget how to hit. There's something else going on. I hope the Pirates don't have to start fixing our hitters also?

    Memo to 33: I am not sure Barks use of women first in that context was necessarily complimentary, nor did it show advanced enlightenment. I might have more comments, but I wish to avoid either warning points, or at the minimum a roll of the eyes from someone on The Big Windy!

    Concur! Giving a guy with Santana's tools and upside a look at SS on a team projected to lose games in the high 80's again was a sound idea. What's to lose? I prefer a SS who is a great glove, and can maybe hit. Not a SS who is a 2, 7, or 8 hitter and maybe field. Whether Santana can harness those glove tools is unknown, but he has them.

    It would be really interesting if you got the gig, how long it would take TD members to turn on you? Unless of course you go in undercover as a TD'er, and trade King Felix to the Twins for Shane Robinson, Duensing, the rights to Nick Punto and a PTBNL! Then you slip quietly down the Green River into the night!

    No one will convince me that if we had let Arcia alone in RF, that he would not have done better than Hunter. This is getting silly!

    Dear whine line, addicted caller here! Do you think MLB should change its scoring rules. I find it unfair that Plouffe should be deprived of a DP opportunity simply because there are two outs! Harmon K.

    If Dozier ever finds out that there is another 2 or 300 feet to the right of where he always hits the ball he would actually be a better hitter!

    He has had a cold start at every level he has moved to. That doesn't mean he will get better this year, but it's his history!

    Duensing wears his cap like a guy using someone else's card at an ATM, and doesn't want to be sen on the cam!

    If you don't have a 3/8" try a 9.5mm. If you don't have one, use a 9mm and shake the bit, or a 10mm, and don't shake the work!
