  1. He looks to have a pretty thick lower half. Any idea Seth how the foot speed and quickness are? Is it too early to wonder if he can stay a third.
  2. Yes. Who cares if they are beating up on bad teams....the twins (we) were supposed to be one of those bad teams. Correia is a decent number 2 or 3 starter. He has been better than advertised
  3. I want to say Hernandez was ranked number 20, in what you already may know is one of if not they worst farm system in the league.
  4. I would encourage all of you to check out Buster Olney's Baseball Tonight podcast from Thursday. He had Terry Ryan on and it was great. He really doesn't sugar code ****. He is straight forward and very respected in the game. Look at the two biggest spenders in the past two years: LA dodgers and LA Angels. How is that working out? Free agency is a last resort. Plus you lose draft picks. I for one would rather have Eades for six cheap years than Sanchez for 2 good followed by 3 bad at 15-20 mil.
  5. I would think Eades in that 13-18 range makes sense. He is an established starter who could be a 2/3 starter potentially. He should be ahead of the starters and I personally would put him ahead of Goodrum I think. Luckily we should get to see him throw a little this season in rookie ball and in Omaha.
  6. As far as perk goes...I agree with most. He is not untouchable. If we can get a pitcher or SS I am in. Even a B SS prospect would do it for me. Closers are much easier to find then SS's. on another note, the Tigers really could use a closer...if they offer up a good enough deal can we pull the trigger with all things considered?
  7. I agree...and there was a Japanese player I think in there somewhere. Although Smith did have the gonads to go after the missing piece for Capps.
  8. Are Tawainese and Korean prospects at a disadvantage compared to Latin American players because of age? Tawainese and Koreans usually graduate from HS where as Latin American players sign at about sophomore or junior in HS age.
  9. First, at least someone read your blog, I enjoy your writing. Second, I am not disagreeing I am simply pointing out that we are comparing stats. Is this Yangervis guy going to better than Dozier? Maybe. But who knows. I am not a SABR guy by any means, but I would have to guess Dozier is at about replacement level. I agree that our Twins have had a horrible time or are terrible at developing middle infielders. This is a fact that any swinging Richard on the street could tell you. But if you look at any organization, this happens. Do you think the A's or Reds made good decisions on Jared Burton? Do you think the Astros made a good decision on Johan Santana? You never know how a guy is going to react or how he is going to develop. I have heard Keith Law and Buster Olney whom are very respected in baseball, say they do not blame the Twins for trading Calos Gomez and letting Big Papi walk. My point here is, you can't just look at how a guy is hitting in AAA years after the fact. Now if you want to talk about letting Joe Benson go for nothing, even if he doesn't pan out, then we can talk. Chill Shane, you are a good blogger when you aren't so damn negative. That is a compliment btw.
  10. Comparing AAA stats to a guy who is in the majors...nice
  11. I highly doubt it. He is looking for over a mil reportedly. My guess is that any savings from top 10 rounds goes to Gonclaves who will definitely need an above slot bonus to sign.
  12. More like a freshman waiting for graduation. I feel like in this simile, we are getting close to the end of junior year.
  13. Just watched the game from my dvr. That catch was jaw dropping. My expectations were super high and he exceeded them. This guy is special. Gold glove caliber defense is an understatement. My brain was releasing serotonin and I have fallen in love. Also my dopamine levels are cocainish
  14. An interpreter cant fix crazy.
  15. Not sure but lets speculate...
  16. Possibly next season id have to say. If he dominates AA, moves to AAA next year, I could see him on the path of Gibson. He is one where the arbitration clock might be an issue. Hicks was one thing, but if Sano plays even close to potential...we are lloking at a massive contract in the future, might as well hold off until the team is closer to contention.
  17. I have the same issues with that.ie10 kind of blows. I use my galaxy to type and that works better usually.
  18. Struggling with control...but looks like a defent pick.
  19. LIKE button! Kyle Gibson was in AAA his first year in bigs. Slowey and baker and blackburn and perkins. All examples of guys who were moved quickly... yet another chance to bash twins tho so...
  20. Catcher, Stewart to stewart...i like it
  21. I've heard from my sources that Wahl is destined for late reliever, which in round 3 as a worst case scenerio, doesn't hurt my feelings. BTW my sources are random scouting reports and my almost null knowledge of scouting and baseball.
  22. Monday at 1 Central (noon mountain for us out west) Fox Sports North will be televising Byron Buxton in Cedar Rapids against Kane County. A new "Spotlight" will also be shown before the game including stories about Sano and Buxton. Get your DVR's ready. I checked and it will be replayed at like 6 on FSN. Forget youtube, we finally get to see Buxton Live, I am excited.
