  1. Because I would say Doug Fister is much more valuable than say…Denard Span. If Denard Span = Alex Meyer (a top 30 prospect) than Doug Fister should = greater than Alex Meyer. The package Detroit got in return, in my opinion, is much less than Alex Meyer. Robbie Ray is not, IMHO, a very good prospect.
  2. Robbie Ray is the number 5 prospect according to Baseball America. Here are some thoughts on the guy (http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/2014-washington-nationals-top-10-prospects-with-scouting-reports/). http://cdn.baseballamerica.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/robbie-ray-2013-mug-150x150.jpg Background: Ray first made a name for himself by flashing mid-90s heat on the high school showcase circuit, but he pitched mostly in the 87-91 mph range over his first three pro seasons. But his velocity jumped in 2013, and his prospect status jumped with it. He ranked as the No. 16 prospect in the high Class A Carolina League, and he more than held his own as a 21-year-old in the Double-A Eastern League following a midseason promotion. Scouting Report: Truncated by admin staff. Please don't post full scouting reports that are behind a paywall. It's fine to post snippets of text but posting the entire article/bio defeats the purpose of the paywall and we wish to respect our fellow baseball scribes. Thanks. -Brock
  3. You would think Fister could net a huge haul but it didn't sound that great. I am slightly puzzled. Plus He is going to make around 7 mil. Is anyone else puzzled or am I over valuing Dougie Doug?
  4. Hope to hear some more Twins talk than usual this week. Streaming now...
  5. But that outfield will have a guy named Buxton as early July roaming center. By 2015 we could have an outfield of Hicks, Buxton, and Rosario (assuming he ends up in OF). That gives us possibly the best defensive outfield in the league, at least the fastest. Arcia could split between RH and DH. Next year the Twins could still be .500 if Gibson takes a step forward and becomes a #3/4 starter. The rotation now looks passible for the first time in years.
  6. Sources say AJ is next. Who am I going to boo now? My question is…will you still boo AJ even if he is a Twin?
  7. 3 years worth it? IDK. People who wanted JR. to gamble must be happy. Thats about 20 mil a year for 2 pitchers. Salty for 10 a year would be pretty awesome and I would bet make the total still under 100 (96 off the top of my head).
  8. Let the Yankees make this HUGE mistake. Anyone that signs him will be making a mistake. No way does he live up to his contract for more than a few year. I hope they sign him AND can't get out of the A-Rod contract. Look at all of the mega-deals that have been signed recently: Puljos, Hamilton, A-Rod, Jeter, which are all position players and are not worth the money (except Jeter with his Mauer effect for the franchise).
  9. Happy mother****ing thanksgiving. Best gift ever (could be). Nolasco, Hughes, and Navarro would be awesome. Substitute Salty for Navarro and will do dirty/unthinkable HBO things.
  10. A 7. This is the same team whose biggest free agent acquisition was a TOTAL of 21 mil and under 10 per. This is a move for the future and the guy will be 35 at end of deal. Pelfrey is a throw in low risk signing. The move wont hinder the future and might make the team respectable again. Farm is strong and I see Navarro next to help bring along pinto...I can see light for the first time in 3 years.
  11. Proud to be a Ryan sympathizer for the first time in awhile #erection
  12. Don't get mad…Joe Mauer. I am going to say 20+ bombs and (if possible) even more doubles.
  13. I'm guessing it would be hard to hide this guy for a whole year and then send him to A+ or AA the next year. Any team that takes him might be hurting this guys future. But the Twins found it necessary to add Kepler so perhaps he will get drafted.
  14. I think we are ok on the biased part…if we were any further away from the organization this would be http://www.whitesoxdaily.com #firegardy
  15. Holy geez that is nice. I think the name fits it well and us internet freaks will figure it out. I would guess the Twitter idea might cost some dolla bills so that might not be as doable. Thanks for caring (smiley face)
  16. I agree. But I believe we should just ridicule people for these constant creation of threads instead of deleting them. Our Forefathers would want it this way. ('Murica)
  17. mlbtraderumors.com twins feed widget top right hand corner. Also a possible suggestion, put a twitter feed of twins city beat writers widget somewhere on homepage. Much like what ESPN does. Just ideas. I usually come here third after checking ESPN and MLBtraderumors. 17 times daily that is.
  18. This is funny, we are talking about stuff we literally know nothing about. None of us are agents or GM's. This is why Gleeman has no respect for this site. The whole "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" argument is dumb as we don't know who has offered what or how the whole process works.
  19. I would bet that it wasn't pain killers. To "heal faster" which I have seen in articles about the alleged failed test, you would have to take some sort of HGH or other type of synthetic hormone. For all we know, it could have been a "pill" you get at GNC like a test boost.
  20. We need a news feed section from mlbtraderumors.com on the right side of every TD page. I am really getting carpal tunnel syndrome (spelling may be suspect) from going back and forth from TD to mlbtr. Make it happen John Bonnes.
  21. If he's hitting .750 his shatty defense will definitely be offset by his hitting. Put him at short in that case
  22. mlbtraderumors.com says the Twins are still hot on Arroyo. If we get him for 2 plus a team option, that would be clutch. Everytime another pitcher signs elsewhere, Arroyo gets sexier and sexier.
  23. Florimon is above average defensively…nuff said. With all the other holes in the lineup (pitching, catcher, pitching and pitching) we can live with him for a long time. Finding a competent SS is hard to do. Florimon is competent. Finding a dude SS is damn near impossible. If we can acquire pitching and some of our pitching from the farm turns out, THEN we can start looking for a shortstop. To tell you the truth, I would rather have Florimon and his contract/attitude than Castro and his. Something about Castro screams immature and unfocused (not because he is Latino as Florimon is also Latino).
  24. It is early in the game…take a chill pill. Wake up after the winter meetings and THEN you can start bit chin'. We are still in the 2nd inning of the offseason. Plenty of time to come back.
