  1. After today's debacle against the ChiSox: 18-126 (.143), 5 2B, 1 HR. .143 (30)/.206 (30)/.230 (29) (.436 OPS (30)) Castro and Larnach: 8-24 (.333), 3 2B, 1 HR (all by Castro) Rest of team: 10-102 (.098), 2 2B, 1 HR Not going to win any games with hitting like that, even if the pitching is good (it has not been).

  3. On Mar 2 @NYCTK said: I will bet money that Bader is not the starting LF on opening day (bet is null if against a LHP). He was (and Gray is not LHP, time to pay up), and he looks to be the regular LF...
  4. And of course he has a Double and an HR with 2 RBI....
  5. Viola wasn't acquired from another team, he was drafted in the 16th round by Kansas City in 1978, but elected instead to attend St. John's University, which led to him being drafted in the 2nd round of the 1981 draft by the Twins. Otherwise a very good article, well worth the read.
  6. It's still just ST, but it is the day after Lewis went down with an injury; Lee CG at 3B, Miranda CG at 1B and Julien 7 innings, 4 PA at 2B. Also 7 innings, 3 PA for Keirsey. The results were mixed, but maybe the team is going to let the players sort out who's making the team and where they are going to be playing.
  7. The diagnosis is "moderate" strain. No time table for a return as of right now. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/03/royce-lewis-exits-game-due-to-hamstring-strain.html
  8. The 7/1 K/BB is nice, but he grooved some pitches and those got hit hard. Velo looks good, hopefully a little fine-tuning on location and he's good to go.
  9. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/03/white-sox-release-joey-gallo.html
  10. Camargo making a statement to join the big league team by hitting into that DP...
  11. Lopez managed to work his way out of a really big inning, let's see the how/if the bats reply.
  12. To pick 3: Miranda, Julien & Larnach, simply because their collective careers are depending on not only a hot start, but an entire season of good hitting. Based on positional needs: Julien, Martin and Lee at 2B - Keaschel, (and to an extent Eeles, though he is not at MLB ST) is knocking on the door with Culpepper right behind him. All three may not break camp with the team, Lee is out playing Martin right now, and Martin may be considered more of an OF these days anyway. All three have options though and can get reps in AAA.
  13. Jeffers caught 83 games last year with a slash line of .232/.314/.451 (.756 OPS) 17 HR, 48 RBI and 52/26 K/BB. As a DH, usually meaning he played two days in a row, but without the stress of catching, he played 34 games with a slash line of .207/.262/.378 (.641 OPS) 4 HR, 16 RBI and 42/6 K/BB. Doesn't seem to me like he can play 2 out of every 3 games effectively.
  14. At this moment, Vazquez is worth more on the roster than the return he brings in a trade. Jeffers has not proven he can catch 2 of every 3 games without tiring/breaking down, and with Camargo or Cartaya as the back-up catcher, that's what he would have to do.
  15. He was also called out on strikes twice, that still concerns me even if it is spring training
  16. Since Rocco has stated that Bader is going to be get a lot of time in LF, is the 4th OF Larnach, Castro or Martin? None of those three is better defensively than Buxton.
  17. Need more than just Julien's development as I just watched the "same ol' Twins"....2 on, nobody out against Chapman.....K, double steal of 3B & 2B, K, 2-out sac fly to CF. This is the time of year to work on getting those runners in...
  18. This!! The Twins faced a LHP starter in 46 games last year and at least one LHP in 128 games - LH batters had 194 PAs against those LHP (TB, Rocco's bar-setting former team, was next lowest at 222 PAs by LHB against LHP). 6 Twins LHB had PAs against LHP: Kepler - 82 PA; .273/.305/.416 (.721 OPS) 2 HR, 10 RBI, 19/2 K/BB, 2 HBP Wallner - 44 PA; .184/.295/.316 (.611 OPS) 1 HR, 3 RBI, 21/5 K/BB, 1 HBP Julien - 33 PA; .172/.273/.310 (.583) 1 HR, 1 RBI, 14/3 K/BB, 1 HBP Larnach - 23 PA; .227/.261/.318 (.579 OPS) 0 HR, 1 RBI, 7/0 K/BB, 1 HBP Kirilloff - 8 PA; .167/.250/.167 (.417 OPS) 0 HR, 1 RBI, 0/0 K/BB, 1 HBP Keirsey - 4 PA; .000/.000/.000 (.000 OPS) 0 HR, 0 RBI 0/0 K/BB, 0 HBP
  19. Julien attributes his sophomore slump to changes he made to his swing before the 2024 season that left him especially vulnerable to offspeed pitches Changes to his swing? He didn't swing, that was the problem.
  20. Says more about the team than the player...
  21. Concerning the TJ injury, Atteberry and Gladden stated that Keaschal is working with the teams pitching coaches and medical staff to get a consistent arm slot and acquire better throwing habits. Rehabbing a "pitchers" injury as a pitcher would can't be a bad thing, right?
  22. Canterino pitched in a game for the first time since 2022, that in itself is a big story. Mixed results for sure, but let's see how he pitches going forward before we judge.
  23. I also remember him dropping at least one soft "line drive," but I don't remember if it turned into a big inning or not...
  24. Very easy for the team to write off/walk away from a $1 MM contract if it comes down to it, let's hope they don't wreck the season before doing so.
