    So I was in the hospital earlier today, asking at the front desk about a friend. I heard this voice ask the receptionist if he could get an appointment, as soon as possible. I couldn't see anything, however, and was wondering where the guy was. Then I heard "I'm suffering from temporary bouts of invisibility," same voice. I thought to myself, well, that explains that. I was waiting to visit my friend, when I heard the receptionist call out, "Wherever you are...uh...you'll have to come back. The doctor can't see you today."

    This is spot on. I believed then, and to this day, that TK had a lot of influence at the time, and TK couldn't go more than two sentences without saying something disparaging about Ortiz. Side note: I'm pretty sure "Arias" is his patrilineal last name, "Ortiz" his matrilineal. He simply chose to drop the patrilineal, somewhat uncommon for Hispanic cultures that use this naming convention, but not unheard of.

    Talk about hindsight. He wouldn't be able to walk? 2002 was the only season in Minnesota where a knee injury gave him problems. He was no more likely to have knee issues than any similar player, and remember...they kept Lecroy over him. How does that make sense, durability wise? It was a blunder. Then and now. It made no sense, then or now. Rationalizations are just that, then or now.

    There are few rules for game threads. Virtually nothing is off topic. Let the conversation flow, like rain water, down hill, to the gutter. But there is a limit. And I have the power to set it. So let it be known, henceforth and forevermore: NO MORE MENTIONS OF COLONOSCOPIES. EVER. Are we clear? ARE WE CLEAR? CRYSTAL??

    Nitpic: I believe it will be five out of six seasons with 90 losses (counting 2016), not six of seven. And...so far at least, yes. You are what your record says you are. And to date, they're historically bad. I don't think they maintain this pace, though.
