    It wasn't the umpires fault. Molitor screwed up, then wouldn't admit it post game. If it was the umpire's mistake, don't you think Molitor reacts differently during the game? Sheesh. And don't blame Roberts, either. He did exactly what he should have, and what I'd want Molitor to do. This is big league baseball, not little league.

    I drove 409 miles to see a go ahead 3 run HR on an 0-2 pitch.

    we are down the right field line just past 1st base, a couple rows above the beautiful people seats, field level. But tomorrow night, pay attention...look for blue "Twins daily.com" tee shirts when the view is of a LH hitter.

    I agree with paragraph 2. Not so much with paragraph 1. Some teams/front offices are very aggressive. Some aren't.

    Rogers does not have the same results against LH and RH hitters. That was some awful managing. He shouldn't even have been warming up. Why is your best reliever even warming up in a 6-0 game?

    Predicting next inning is difficult. Predicting 2-4 years in the future is next to impossible. But if we're going to do so, I'll predict Burdi never throws a pitch for the Twins

    I'm confused. A team in a race, starting Bartolo Colon, has a chance to add an average starter at the cost of a AA reliever 2 months off TJ surgery, and people think that's TOO MUCH?? If so, forget about the Twins ever making a deal.

    yeah, stash on the 60 day, but I forget the rule...doesn't such a case still need X number of days on the 25 man to become the claiming team's property?

    Clearly they're using their in-hand deal with Texas for Darvish as leverage to lower the price on Garcia. Clearly.

    This seems to me a reasonable first step. It won't take much to get more from the bottom of the rotation than what they've gotten. I hope they do more.

    just deleting Hector Santiago and Kyle Gibson from 2018 saves $11, not even counting what Gibson would get as a raise in arb. Mauer's deal is up after 2018. I refuse to let the Twins use money as an issue. There is no financial reason the Twins can't be spending another $30-$40M on salary, IMO.

    well, I said "virtually nothing." You'd have to give Detroit some minor league assets, but nothing that anyone would be upset about.

    Verlander is almost certainly on the market as Detroit looks to get younger and cheaper. They're going to have a hard time getting rid of the contract, he's owed $56M over 2018 and 19 (with a vesting option at $22M for 2020 if he finishes top 5 in CY voting in 2019.) That's a lot of money, but there's no real reason the Twins couldn't absorb that, IMO.

    Here's an idea...If you took on all the money, I bet you could get Justin Verlander and Justin Wilson from Detroit for virtually nothing. Verlander is owed a lot of money, but he's only 34 and one season removed from 220 innings of 3 ERA, his K rate and BB rates are still good, and he'd be a clear upgrade in the rotation for now and the foreseeable future. And the Twins have the money. What else are they going to do with it?

    Not to mention, in baseball there isn't a prohibitive favorite when a .500-ish team plays a .600-ish team in a 5 or 7 game series. For one thing, it's baseball, and for another, the bottom of each team's roster isn't likely to play a decisive role.

    True. However, the Twins ARE in contention today. They might not be tomorrow.
