  1. I'm totally on board with this. Come spring, I'll be able to say "I tried."
  2. I don't know if the "Isola lobbing popups back to the pitcher thing" is disqualifying, but it's ANNOYING AS HELL!! Who was the catcher (white sox?) that used to triple clutch and then soft toss back to the pitcher every time? I CANT WATCH THAT! Anywho, Martin is fast and Julien looks very hitterish. The pitchers....we had to send SOMEbody, I guess.
  3. We could have Herr AND Brunansky. And Pete Townshend. A "Tommy" revival.
  4. This offseason is the perfect example of why "wait till you are a player short to spend on a free agent" is folly. $60m to spend and exactly one top free agent pitcher worth pursuing, and even he's had a history of injury. There's nobody to spend it on. Sign talent whenever you can.
  5. Prolly more like $70m. Correa $35, Sanchez $10, Rodon $25. I'd drop Sanchez and find a different option, but even with him $70m is completely within possibilities.
  6. Settling for this type of player is exactly what also-rans do.
  7. In what way would signing Correa prevent the Twins from developing those same players?
  8. Me too. "Throw strikes. ... But don't give 'em anything to hit. ... Questions?"
  9. That's pretty generous. Celestino is worthless. You can find 100 Celestinos in the minors. Most of them might even be able to run the bases. And hoping that someday, Alcala can become what Pressley already is, is the definition if a failed trade.
  10. 1st of all, all of baseball dealt with the pandemic and missed seasons. 2nd, if somehow the Twins were damaged more by missing 2020 than the other 29 teams, shouldn't Falvine have accounted for that, rather than count on prospects who weren't going to pan out because reasons? 3rd, all of baseball dealt with the pandemic and missed seasons.
  11. We don't have any version of Royce Lewis until midseason, at which point he's most likely not any kind of answer at SS. And Iglesias is only "league average" if we're talking the International League.
  12. Signing Iglesias to play SS is roughly the equivalent of signing Matt Shoemaker to be in your rotation. It'll do nothing to help you win, but somebody has to stand out there.
  13. I guess the idea we're going to drive up the price the Yankees pay fits in this thread.
  14. "Trevor Megill went down with an oblique strain after unleashing a wild pitch in warmups – which nearly hurt one the only injured player who DID make it back, Ryan Jeffers." Your 2022 Minnesota Twins, ladies and germs.
  15. Well, I've learned the Twins ARE getting new uniforms for 2023.
  16. Satire only works when there's a thin layer of truth in there somewhere.
  17. Wasn't that long ago you were asking for MORE ABs for Garlick. Including against RHers. I remember it like it was just a month or two ago. But I agree with the call for some reliable offense from the OF.
  18. Your post I quoted doesn't attack anyone? It literally starts with "those that deride Baldelli in every post." The entire post is about other posters. Zero about Baldelli.
  19. You're right. Almost no one actually defends Baldelli. But many here attack anyone who is critical.
  20. And that's different than those who vigorously attack anyone questioning a baseball manager...how? Not only is there seemingly nothing Baldelli can do to make them even question a single decision, It's like they take it personally when someone else does.
