  1. Simply awful. Find ways to lose, rather than ways to win. 4 errors. Celestino thrown out at home by 30 feet with none out in the 10th. Jax finds a way to throw a dinger to Glayber frigging Torres to cough up a 2 run lead. Based loaded one out in the 12th, Correa pops up on the 1st pitch, not even a strike. Megill has a another, what?...2 hits given up on 0-2 pitches? More rolling curves. Twins have not 1 but TWO Yankees caught off base in the 12th and Correa gets neither. For some reason Hamilton is in left field by the 6th inning. What? That results in a three pitch K for pinch hitter Kepler, who can't play the field, leaving Gordon in left and Palacios hitting 6th. It's tough being a Twins fan some days.
  2. 1. The Pitching Pipeline(tm) is, predictably IMO, the biggest disappointment. And unfortunately, I don't think ANYone will be touting it this offseason. 2. Buxton. A couple scintillating weeks to start the season, then the "100 game plan" which featured thoroughly unremarkable results, and then the seemingly inevitable trip to the IL, from which we may or may not see a return. 3. Falvine. Whether through poor decision making (Rogers trade) or poor luck, we're left with Nick Gordon hitting 4th or 5th, no starter seemingly capable of a 6 inning start, and question marks at more positions than not. 4. Everything else.
  3. 33 appearances, with 21 starts over 3 years, totalling 125.2 IP at a 4.94 ERA and 1.38 WHIP doesn't do it for you?
  4. Interesting. Care to elaborate? I don't recall it that way.
  5. Couldn't agree more. "Getting to the big leagues" means zilch towards winning. Every team needs 26 players, 28 in September. Every team is going to call up rookies on occasion. That's nothing to celebrate as a fan. Or at the least, a poor measure of organizational "success." Developing players that get to the big leagues, stick, and outperform others is the trick. "Success" is building players that win championships.
  6. Yeah I blame Megill. Freaking rolling hanger on a tee.
  7. Someone tell me why Megill throws so many breaking balls. Somebody's computer is spitting out garbage.
  8. Yesterday was Sunday. Both teams had a day game.
  9. Yes. Yes he has. An enormous disappointment. He can still change that, but to date? Unquestionably.
  10. Both moves were backdated to their initial placement on the 10 day IL, and basically procedural to open spots on the 40 man. Larnach has already spent more than 60 days on the IL and can be activated when/if healthy. Jeffers went on the IL mid July and would be eligible mid September, but I think the latest I read said they were hoping for late September.
  11. Nice Job Bundy. Nice job Correa. Nice job Duran. And finally...I wonder if Falvine are feeling just a little snake bit. "OK. OK, Paddack ... Pagan ... Mahle ... Lopez ... Fullmer ... haven't exactly gone as envisioned. ... I know, let's add Billy Hamilton! His ONLY skill is speed! Speed can't possibly go into a slump! What could go wrong??!?"
  12. Gold gloves are awarded based on: - 75%. Voting by managers and coaches in each appropriate league. Managers and coaches cannot vote for their own players. - 25% SDI
  13. So I come here for satire, and I get straight reporting??
  14. No. I don't think that's "fair." I think that's quite the stretch, actually. We can be pleased with Miranda without inventing comparisons.
  15. While I despise sac bunting most of the time, there are specific situations where I would call for it. I would have asked Arraez to bunt in the 9th last night. But I don't think it's clearcut, letting him hit away is defensible too. If he HAD successfully busted, I doubt Correa gets to hit. The Gordon double irks me to no end. Just cannot get thrown out at third there. That IS clear cut, incontrovertible, indefensible. I will be in the minority here, but I don't trust Moran. He doesn't look ready to me to pitch in the big leagues.
  16. Yeah, also Chuck Knoblauch, Rod Carew, Kent Hrbek, Francisco Liriano, Marty Cordova, just off the top of my head. Also, "one of the best seasons in prospect history?" A "ridiculous .838 OPS?" This article might have had a point, but I can't get past the hyperbole.
  17. Yes. Yes he was. Which is why I also want someone besides Archer to take his next start.
  18. I guess I can sorta understand how Lewis might factor into the decision whether or not to bring back Urshela. Sorta. But Kirilloff? Buxton??? The decision revolves around handing 3rd to Miranda and spending the $8-$9M elsewhere, or not.
  19. A nice, relatively comfortable win. I rather enjoy those. Nitpic: bullpen usage chart missing 11 pitches from Lopez today .
  20. I'm glad we stole a W. But...We gave up a run in the top of the 9th in a 1-0 game...and neither Duran nor Lopez had left the bullpen. That's just bad managing.
  21. Concur. But Urshela just doesn't move the needle. Like someone said above, he's a 3rd Baseman on a 2nd division team. Somebody has to play there. Miranda might not be the answer, but it's worth a shot. He's got upside.
