  1. "OK...I really screwed the pooch on the whole Hicks/Murphy thing. What would make those jerks over on TD shut up?"
  2. I'll go way out on a limb here and say Gibson to the DL.
  3. And I get the criticism, but the conundrum only really arises because Buxton and Kepler were sent down simultaneously preceding the bizarre retirement of David Murphy. I have a hard time blaming the organization for that. (Because we're not ganging up on you enough yet) Forgive me, but it seems you're having a hard time blaming the organization for something they did. Buxton and Kepler didn't decide on their own to be simultaneously demoted. It wasn't due to league president orders. I believe one T Ryan made that decision. As well as the one to have only 18 position players on the 40 man (39/17 after waiving J Hicks), at least one of which isn't any kind of realistic MLB option. Those all seem to me to be things we can blame the organization for. It's not the weather...those are all conscious decisions they made.
  4. I'm pretty sure that's incorrect. If the MLB team DL's a player, a recently demoted player can take his place, regardless of the position of either player.
  5. Wed is Gibson's next scheduled start, amiright? Interesting.
  6. I think I can guarantee we won't see Plouffe against the Tigers. IIRC he was placed on the DL on Apr 17, meaning he can't be activated until May 2.
  7. I think the relentless criticism is based on looking around the league for the past 50 yrs and not seeing other teams be put in a similar position often, if at all. There's no defense for a major league team to be in this roster position, particularly before May 1st. None. It's just...bad management.
  8. Maybe so. And maybe that's an example of how and why an organization sits at 6-14, loses 390 games in a four year stretch, and has won one playoff series in two decades under the current GM. This is the major leagues. It's a zero sum game, and some organizations are only too happy to get the W at your expense if you run around thinking otherwise.
  9. .718 in AAA means he's earned it? This isn't little league. Everybody doesn't get to play.
  10. Only the pinnacle of the television era, against which all previous and subsequent efforts are to be judged, and against which all, to date, have been found lacking. http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/b4c5d7adbd94de6905c81a05b055275c021752c0/c=0-0-480-360&r=x404&c=534x401/local/-/media/Tallahassee/2015/03/21/B9316676012Z.1_20150321211445_000_GG7A9EEUV.1-0.jpg
  11. Turn down the sound while DickBert are doing the pregame.
  12. That would be logical. Any other MLB team would do that. Except...they've jacked up the 40 man so bad, there's no position player to recall, and utility man Danny Santana (.215/.241/.291 in 2015), on the roster only because he's out of options, will be starting in CF. With a 1 man bench (not counting the catcher.)
  13. I'm too lazy to look it up, so you'll have to trust my memory, but It's a 10 day rule, and has three exceptions: the 10 day rule is waived if, 1. If the major league team places someone--anyone--on the DL in the 10 day period after the demoted player reports to the minor league team 2. the minor league team's season ends 3. the player demoted is traded
  14. 1. Duffey could turn right around and come back to MN if Santana goes on the DL. If they're worried about the cost of a r/t airline ticket, just have Duffey stay in Minneapolis with friends. He's not going to get a start for Rochester for a few days, either. 2. Then DL him. Of course, then they'd have to pay him a MLB salary for 15 days. There's no reason to let Duffey just sit on the roster. Do something.
  15. How to tell when things aren't going well for your MLB team: David Murphy requests his release and leaves the organization.
  16. Looking at the big picture here, it's pretty darn inexcusable for a MLB team to find itself--in late April, no less, with all winter to plan--in a position where they have a game tonight and feature a 25 man roster with no less than 14 pitchers, and a 40 man roster short a man, but featuring only 17 position players. I mean, I could see if a rash of injuries tore up a plan, by maybe July or August. That's not the case. They've had a couple injuries, but nothing out of the ordinary or not faced by lots of teams, lots of times. They had all winter to plan this out, and come out of spring training with this mess.
  17. Get Buxton to work on bunting How about they get him to work on hitting first? You can't make a successful MLB career out of being a good bunter.
  18. At the least, terribly perplexing. Now 39 on the 40 man roster. Only 17 position players.
  19. Toss in a horrid throw from Rosario and a "lets do this in slow motion" DP turn from Escobar for good measure.
  20. So, Gibby...lets recap, shall we? A hit on an 0-2 pitch, a HBP on an 0-2 pitch, couple of walks, two RBI single to the 8 hitter...did I miss anything?
  21. Unless she's taking PEDs. Then she'd knock you on your Ash.
