  1. We're worried Gordon would be claimed if waived? Why? This isnt a tough call. I have trouble understanding how anyone would prefer Nick Gordon to Trevor Larnach. Nick Gordon wasn't, isn't and never will be someone who holds down a MLB position. He doesn't hit well enough. Larnach has a chance to be an impact bat.
  2. *obstruction And only so if the fielder impedes the runner's progress. I don't think there's a case to be made Castro's progress was impeded. Just a poor decision by MAT to swing, and even worse baserunning by Castro.
  3. They haven't turned him into Miguel Sano, they turned him into Rob Deer. It'd be comical, if not so tragic.
  4. Here's a suggestion: play him in CF every day. Let him run when he's on base. Let him be Buxton. He might get injured, like any player. But We have MAT in CF and Rob Deer at DH. You think that's a good thing? I don't. I think that's how you end up the KC Royals.
  5. 11th time the team has scored 3 or fewer runs. 2 of the games we scored 4, took extra innings. This offense is weak, but We're only short maybe 3 hitters. ... Say...Yordon Alvarez, Freddie Freeman, and Aaron Judge.
  6. FYI, as reported by our intrepid Vanimal, Polanco and SWR up, Julien and Alcala to St Paul. I'd imagine Polanco in the lineup tonight.
  7. If/when someone gets replaced in the rotation, I'd prefer Varland over Ober.
  8. The tone of that road trip sure took a 180 after Friday night. Thankfully it appears no fracture for Maeda.
  9. In related news, the Chicago Cubs announced today they have reached a sponsorship agreement to replace the ivy covering the outfield walls. They've hired a new team of expert horticulturalists to ensure the crossover goes "with like, no hassles at all man."
  10. So much to dislike: Awful offense. Just awful. Really poor defense, from many corners. Solano, Gordon, Vasquez. Some questionable managing, IYAM. I don't like Moran in ANY situation, and hated him in extra innings here. That's not a second guess, either. I would rather have seen anyone, and would have actually preferred Pagan. And once it's clear Moran is scared to death, you have to get him out of the game.
  11. Fun Fact: When David Ortiz left the Twins, he was simply “David Ortiz”. Another fun fact: When David Ortiz came to the Twins, he was known in professional baseball as David Arias.
  12. The Rays have hit at least 1 HR in every one of their games this year.
  13. When's the last time the Twins did an extension in-season?
  14. Nice job battling by Lopez. Other than that, disappointing.
  15. The bias toward the Yankees continued into Sunday in the bottom of the third inning, when they let Anthony Rizzo remain on base after the Twins challenged a hit-by-pitch call. What bias?
  16. Let's please try to leave this thread for actual roster moves. Discuss other topics where appropriate. Thanks.
  17. Really nice win. Hat tip to Varland, well done young man. Really impressed, particularly with composing himself after getting down 2-0, two batters in. He's got legit stuff, too. Also, not a fan of MAT playing every day, but he had a key hit today and has absolutely contributed to this nice start.
