  1. Injury from sliding into 1st base, IIRC? Don't do that, k?
  2. Been traveling for a couple days. I imagine nothing has happened roster-wise?
  3. In addition to other obvious weaknesses with both WARs, the formula ignores context for all events, not just HRs.
  4. https://library.fangraphs.com/stats-to-avoid-runs-batted-in-rbi/
  5. From AI: "The phrase "RBI are meaningless" is a popular yet highly debated idiom in baseball analytics." You can't seriously be claiming this isn't standard stathead orthodoxy, can you?
  6. Time to make a move on Lewis. This is supposed to be the big leagues. I don't even want to hear about his reaction.
  7. Nerds: "strikeouts are just like any other out." USAFChief: "false." Nerds: "RBI are meaningless." USAFChief: "false."
  8. Will the Twins suffer another ramblin wreck with their #3 overall pick in the upcoming MLB amateur draft? Codie Christie adds to Twins Daily's excellent and thorough coverage with a look at a possible Georgia Tech catcher. Many good takes from readers here...what do you think? Forrest Lake's Matt Wallner struggled mightily through the first quarter of the season, both defensively and at the plate. Walks down, K's up, power virtually nonexistent. On this past Thursday, the Twins reached a no doubt painful decision and sent him on the green line to St Paul. Weigh in here: While Wallner is no longer with the big club, Royce Lewis remains. Are his problems at the plate fastball related? Betwixt the ears? Too much eyeblack? What say ye? View full article

  10. Lewis is not out of options. Neither is Wallner...who was just sent to AAA.
  11. Yup. Back foot flying all over the place. It's ridiculous. Look at the picture above. Back foot off the ground. Backside halfway to third. Lunging, all arms swing. That's the problem. Not "fastballs." Nobody can hit much with a swing like that happening way too often.
  12. Funderburk is 29, in his 9th season of pro ball. 271 games, over 540 IP. I don't see a couple weeks in St Paul having much chance of fixing his command issues
  13. The whole "4 innings once in a while" minor league thing is just stupid. Incredibly stupid. And that includes for Prielipp and Rojas. "Too smart by half" comes to mind.
  14. 1. Chopping up the TV schedule between multiple services should be a felony. 2. Having 5 consecutive hitters go double, single, single, single, single -- all to the outfield no less -- and coming away with only one run IS a felony in 39 states. Lock em up.
  15. I'm annoyed by the existence of a microphone on Apple TV.
  16. I believe the MLB answer is "no judgement calls can be reviewed." Not that I agree, but I believe that's the current rule.
  17. Life is good for the Dodgers. Even Brock Stewart is off the IL and had a perfect inning with 2 Ks in his 2026 debut. 2 is exactly 1/2 the number of hits James Outman has in almost 1/4 of the season.
