  1. Why does Dozier only have 16 steals?? Oh, yeah. 41 Home Runs :-)
  2. Man, the price has really gone up....
  3. 1-2-3 inning. Seems like it's been awhile. Nice Start!
  4. Santiago is throwing a screwball now? When did that happen? Or was I experiencing a Blyleven moment?
  5. http://www.bettingon.com/files/uploads/attachments/Ladbrokes-Game-On.png
  6. I am 1 of 6 boys in our family. On our 8th birthday [no, no idea why #8] my parents had big Birthday parties for us. Relatives from all over, neighbors, etc. One small problem: My birthday is in early September and way before Global Warming. Yup, blizzard. And a dandy. Nobody could make it. My parents, being the great parents that they were, were trying to comfort me and making a big deal about presents. Me? I'm sitting there staring at this gigantic Birthday Cake. Fork at the ready :-)
  7. Rally Monkey! 1ST !!
  8. LOL, yeah, SAC bunts in the 2nd inning has that " I SURRENDER " feel to it
  9. Casey Jones! A well-know character in children programming for what seemed like decades. The Birthday Song http://lunchwithcasey.com/main/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/jwbirthdayphoto-500x395.jpg https://youtu.be/wfSkqMP-L-4?t=1
  10. Chicago Cubs, 1987. Last place NL East by 18 1/2 games. Andre Dawson, NL MVP Now then: Cubs record that year was 76–85. Current Twins records: 55-95.
  11. Nobody really should have cared about the stats for Buxton, Vargas, Polanco, Duffey, Sano, Berrios, etc. this year. Nor the team record. This year should have been / is now about development. Period. I could give a crap about the record or statistics. I want to see improvement. And there has been improvement. Damn you Twins coaching staff Bunting: I think people are losing sight on what this can do for you. IF you can show you can lay down a bunt every now and then, infielders need to move in to protect against it. With those infielder in, you can easily slap a ball past them before they have time to react. Which brings up another point: Why aren't these things being taught in the Twins MiLB? Basic fundamentals seem to be missing. The young bullpen has been improving. In time, we won't need the Bubba Boshers types. Pressely as a closer? He has the longest windup I've ever seen, starter or reliever. Not sure how that's gonna playout long term. Berrios and Duffey starting out in the Twins bullpen next year. Break them in in low pressure situations. A couple innings and get them out.
  12. I like Escobar at short. And i also like Polanco there as well. But I think one of them may be heading to 3rd. For all the love for Sano, my eye test says he should have been switched to another position a long time ago. Escobar has played 3rd a few times late this year. Dozier is superior to Polanco at 2nd. I'm not in a hurry to trade Dozier unless there's real value to be had. If he plays the 1st half of next year like he is not, his trade value could be enormous!
  13. I agree. I can't blame the lack of fundamentals on Molitor. I can also say last season had a good bit of dumb luck involve due to a recovery period from the last 4 Gardy years. From what I was able to watch, this past season's Spring Training was horrible. I don't pretend to know what happened there, but it definitely carried into the season. From that point on, Molitor was searching for something that worked. Strange lineups / weird strategies are the things you do when you don't have a quality team. It's also the anti-Gardenhire, i.e. play only veterans. Moving forward, I see a better future next year amoungst the MiLB player brought up this season. There's been some in-season instruction going on and I'd have to say it's been fairly successful. Now, will it translate to next year? Step one: TELL Buxton to go play Winter Ball. What has happened recently with his hitting MUST be re-enforced. Same goes for Sano, Kepler, Rosario, etc. Step Two: Send several scouts / coaches to those games and check / stress defensive skills. Step Three: Advise Dozier that there are 2 halves to a season The in-season adjustments for Duffey and Berrios leads me to this question: Are the MiLB managers and pitching coaches only looking at wins or are they also looking towards the MLB future for these pitchers? Keep / Fire Molitor? I personally viewed Molitor as a short timer. A veteran-fundamentals guy that works on getting the team going in the right direction.
  14. After watching Berrios start yesterday, no pitcher at AAA should be considered anything close to a solid bet. Neil Allen (and I"m assuming Guardado, Molitor and Rasumssen) are in the process of making some serious changes to Berrios's delivery. I'd say that, while Berrios had the stuff to get AAA hitters out, the hitters in AAA may not be as good as we think. I can't think of any other reason for the almost full remake of his delivery and having Berrios throwing around 90% fastballs last night. Building Blocks? IMHO, at least another year away from making that call. It takes a lot more time if you don't have the trading chips to jump-start the process.
  15. By LEN III's count: J.J. Picollo, Derek Falvey and Jason McLeod and now Chaim Bloom and Rob Antony as known candidates. Nice list. Need more.
  16. oh jeebus.... for all his faults, Suzuki is a warrior!
  17. Strange his pants don't look more like these
  18. Pat Dean needs glasses. He squints to see the catchers call.
  19. Na, just hang your head in shame and hang around. http://i.imgur.com/T5ydBrq.gif
  20. Generally speaking [ and admitting to the SSS ], it looked like the only time Berrios got into trouble was when he was overthrowing.
  21. I'm thinking he just got away with it in the MiLB because the hitters at AAA aren't all that good anymore. Gotta catch that stuff earlier.
  22. jeezzzz.. that happened fast.
