  1. There are TONS of reasons to not like the Twins broadcasters, this is an odd one. But yes, a ball that travels over only that tiny "black" part of the plate and none of the actual plate should be a ball... but certainly they are talking about pitches that hit both plate + "black"
  2. The Twins leadoff hitter since the beginning of last season; .221/.246/.294 78 K's, 10 walks in 320 plate appearances
  3. So the pro-Brunansky argument is that Brian Dozier who is currently hitting .184/.273/.327 had 3 hits to the opposite field once last week? I'm not really choosing a side in this yet, but that is a pretty poor argument
  4. I like this idea. Plouffe is in the lineup every day vs lefties at DH, 1B or RF, and still gets spot starts all over vs righties. I don't have a lot of faith the Twins will actually think to use this plan, but I think it's the best option for now, and I was previously on board with giving Plouffe away to the highest bidder, whoever that may be.
  5. Thanks, I knew you could do that on Fangraphs I was just forgetting where to click to get to the Dates Range part
  6. Does anyone know why they made such a point to announce he would be given another start? Nearly every beat writer on Twitter wrote "Molitor says it is likely he will get another opportunity next week". Gibson is on the DL, I assumed he would be in the rotation at least until he is back, hopefully longer. Why is the bar set so high for these young guys, where if they fail once they are done?
  7. It looks like they are almost saying 7 days = week period, starting on Monday Last 14 days (Monday thru Sunday) April 18-24 April 25 - May 1 But even these numbers are slightly off... they have the correct number of hits, but are short 10 at bats. He's 11-45 since April 18, they have him 11-35
  8. Yeah even the "28 days" is clearly off, the season isn't even 28 days old and they are almost 20 at bats short...
  9. I see that... I'm not sure where they got those numbers from... 4/13-4/27 he had 61 at bats.... 13-61 4 doubles, 2 home runs, 5 walks... .284 obp .377 slg
  10. I'm not arguing, because I don't believe Dozier should "sit for a week", but where do you get those numbers? I don't know where to look up past 2 weeks, but I see the last 15 days his obp is .284, so slugging is .599 in that time? Edit: I've got his Slg% in that time at .377....
  11. They gave Milone $5 million just a few months ago and aren't willing to admit they were wrong. He will continue to be run out there through May. I don't agree with this btw. Start Meyer
  12. No, it's not Gibson Hughes Santana Milone Duffey Nolasco Berrios Meyer I can't tell if you're just being intentionally obtuse or not, but I'll just end this and agree to disagree
  13. Yup I just edited my post - I read that on here earlier today but it was obviously incorrect, as it appears Polanco was called up
  14. Tommy Milone didn't like, disappear. He's still on the roster and capable of making a start on Sunday if Santana needs to go on the DL. Alex Meyer is also on the roster. So they actually have 8 starting pitchers on the current roster (and that's not counting Trevor May, who SHOULD be a starter) Edit: Oh ya, there's an off day on Thursday. So you technically could skip Santana's spot in general. Tell me again why Duffey CANT be sent down
  15. Someone (Seth I think) mentioned if Santana/ Duffey goes to a DL, that doesn't mean Kepler/Buxton/Polanco are eligible to skip the 10 day window, only a pitcher would be, since its a pitcher going on the DL. So unless they plan on making another 40 man move, yeah a 2 man bench it is, which is just pure madness. EDIT: Lavelle is saying Polanco is on his way back up, so maybe Seth was mistaken when he said it would have to be Pitcher for Pitcher
  16. I would imagine its just pushing everyone back a day, and Milone gets bumped from rotation... don't think there's anything to read into it being Gibson's turn
  17. Thanks for the update. Duffey could've been sent down yesterday. If a 2 man bench isn't a big deal why don't other teams employ it? 16 inning game? Every pitcher that pitched yesterday has been on the roster all year, and were on the roster during the 16 inning game
  18. Yeah, Berardino didn't understand how that works which seems to be leading to all this confusion. Duffey could be sent down now They had plenty of ways to NOT have a 2 man bench, but chose not to
  19. That wasn't the discussion. I know they CAN do that - you said its not a big deal to just wait for Plouffe
  20. I believe Plouffe is eligible to return on May 3rd. So they would potentially play 7 games with a 2 man bench, and that's IF Plouffe is ready to go on that day. Umm realistically, that is a very big deal.
  21. The Astros have been to the World Series with a previous regime, years later blew things up in a rebuild, and have a won a playoff series with a rebuilt team... all since the Twins last won a single playoff game
  22. With Milone not even getting through the 5th last night, again, does Berrios debut at home on Sunday vs the Tigers? Who do you think makes that Sunday start; Milone Berrios Meyer Duffey
  23. It all goes back to the irrational love for Danny Santana - if they just saw him for what he was, a back-up, they would have kept Kepler up to play CF every day, at least until Plouffe was back. Danny Santana would be the utility infielder, Rosario the 4th outfielder. But because they have convinced themselves Danny Santana isn't the trainwreck that we all see, they had to send Kepler down so DSan could play CF most days.
  24. Apparently they are keeping Duffey around in case Santana missed his next start, but they could've sent Duffey down and brought him right back if Santana went to the DL... I'd wager on this roster throughout the Indians series
  25. Baseless? They made a 40 man roster move in order to promote Murphy, he chose to quit instead. That's a fact Do you know it's a 1 day roster? The only position players they are allowed to call up are Adam Walker and Kennys Vargas, neither of whom have any business sniffing a major league roster tomorrow
