  1. Is our front office capable of doing this when these are the metrics they have built. I personally don't think so and really hope we get an overhaul of the front office so we can get a fresh perspective.
  2. This is absolutely not true. The only change in the front office was the person who makes the final call changed from Falvey to Zoll. All the same personnel that worked on the trading and drafting of this roster are still here. What we don't know is how much Falvey took input from his staff. And from his comments, I feel he was a consensus builder, so this roster many people still in the building had a major say in its construction.
  3. Maybe the Buck to the IL talk will go away for a few days now.
  4. I am not sure why you appear to be actively rooting for a Twins player to fail. I do not recall you analyzing every Clemens plate appearance when he was hitting under .200 for a month or Bell when he was slumping. Lewis has been one of our top hitters since his recall and is going thru a little slump, that happens over a 162 game season.
  5. He's got a different profile than Arraez, he will hit for a little more power and has speed.
  6. Have you been watching him pitch. He has 18 starts and is averaging almost 6 innings a start. He has had 3 starts where he has been blown up, or else it is 4 runs or less in those 6 innings. He keeps his team in the game and gives them innings as a #4 starter, not sure what more you want.
  7. This is why it is nice to have some athleticism on the team, you can notice the difference.
  8. Kody was just over that before coming to Minnesota.
  9. That's a great idea, take your hottest hitter out of the lineup.
  10. He's been doing it all year, he's only been blown up twice. I think we have forgotten how bad Sim and what an improvement he has been.
  11. And not great contact, it just feels like everyone is trying to find reasons for Matthews to fail but yet his results are there and that seems to be forgotten.
  12. Six singles, a couple of those infield hits, I think he is doing ok.
  13. He has improved on this and he has been swinging at pitches in the zone tonight.
  14. Pablo has chosen to travel with the team this year while rehabbing, it helps keep him engaged. I think it is great that he has chosen to still be part of the team. Most players in his situation, the other players rarely see.
  15. Well he is in his comfort zone, a minor league stadium.
  16. And most games is keeping his team in the game, exactly what you want from your #4 or #5 starter.
  17. They are only going to add 1 position player on Sept. 1.
  18. We only have two left, as long as the analytics staff is intact, they will be fine.
  19. There is a whole post dedicated to Buxton posted on this site earlier today. Don't see why we have to double up.
  20. He has a hip ailment, that I don't think they are denying that. They are hoping that treatment will allow him to play thru it. The definition of playing thru it is different depending on who you ask. Personally I want him to be able to use his legs as a weapon most of the time not just periodically. But if he can play and feels he can play the team is not going to put him on the IL unless a doctor says differently. Whether we agree with it, Buxton has to be on board with any decision to put him on the 10 day IL unless a doctor says he is unable to play.
  21. Or they force the issue so they can get paid, since Crane wanted to do the job.
  22. Alex Jackson will be firmly entrenched as the starter, so there won't be a spot for him, probably until 2030 or 31.
  23. I have no reason to not believe Buxton when he says he wants to play with one team his whole career. He saw the impact of that for Mauer and he seems to want the same. Buxton seems to be genuine and there is no spin in his speech. I know others do, but I am only referring to this one situation. So if you want to believe it, go for it.
