    Jackson played his first game at 1B a couple of weeks ago and they don't seem inclined to play him in the outfield like he has in the minors.

    I would rather have Wallner than some of the other guys we have run out there. He can at least run into one, I have said this multiple times. He doesn't have to be given regular playing time but be an option off the bench. I would almost be willing to call up Ben Ross to be a pinch runner and defensive replacement could be another option. Point is there are option, you and others are so concerned 2027, I want the team to back up its talk that they are a contender and carrying Jackson is not backing that up.

    Only 5 teams in late May were carrying 3 catchers and I don't think that number has gone up. With a 4 man bench you just can't afford to carry 3 catchers.

    They are a dime a dozen, you want to fall in love with a journeyman catcher, enjoy.

    It actually is affecting the moves that are available at the end of the game, there have been a couple of games in the last week where we potentially could have a pinch hitting option if Jackson wasn't on the roster.

    And also why is Tom Pohlad who knows nothing making any roster decisions other than payroll related or fan related.

    Jackson is not even a starting caliber catcher, if someone goes down you either tell Cardenas come up and catch the ball every three days and not worry about his offense. Or you go out on the waiver one and grab another journeyman, it isn't that difficult.

    One is on the 60 day IL and one is usually on the Development list.

    Notice the pattern when he plays at 2B, it's pretty obvious, they have determined that Caratini is the first baseman against LH pitching so Lewis moves to second. This is for unknown reasons that they want Caratini in there.

    Sign him to an extension while we can.

    Honestly how many games under .500 would we be without Bell. He has had a nice season when he has been on, but didn't heat up until June. July was basically league averages with no HR's after July 4th. Now he is heating up again and still has a WAR of .8, We have no idea what the alternative would have been, but to say he's been a savior to the season is overstating it a little bit.

    The only future Roden should have with this organization is as organizational filler. He will be 27 before next season and has not taken hold of any of his opportunities with us or Toronto. And he honestly looks like he is regressing every game.

    Jackson has never sniffed .300 even in limited time in his career, do you really think that is sustainable. The majority of players just don't all of a sudden turn it on at age 30, Clemens is a rare example. I believe his value is being overrated, if he could contribute they would find some AB's for him. This aversion to any risk is keeping the team in mediocrity, Zoll is just Falvey 2.0. If you can't find another catcher equal to Jackson in the offseason, they might be in the wrong business.

    Not playing the kids is a choice just like today sitting Culpepper after playing two days. Roden is our strong side platoon and is playing every day when there is a RH pitcher starting and Martin is the short side platoon, I don't think you can say the don't play a lot because that is just not true. Martin is only playing less because he doesn't start against RH pitching, but he gets into most games.

    We don't need to know the details, but the last few years is the first time in my many years of following the team that I can't see any outline of a plan. If they have one it sure ain't working.

    But remember we traded for him so he must be good and 200 AB's is not enough, we should give him a full season.
