  1. A 162 game season is made up of a combination of series of "small sample sizes". I did not want to get off to a poor start this season. These March/April games count as much as the games in September...and maybe even more, psychologically..
  2. I guess the Twins feel that Marek Houston needs to work on his hitting at a lower level, rather than at AA. I hope Houston hits well and is promoted to AA quickly. The Twins need his fielding at SS.
  3. This is so sad. Maybe if the Twins would move to North Carolina, hope for the Twins will spring eternal in the human breast. In other words, "You don't miss your water until your well runs dry."
  4. Hindsight is 20/20. However, it is possible to learn from mistakes. And there were quite a few mistakes by the Twins during this series, without enough runs scored (by whatever means) to make up for these blunders. Mistakes will happen, but when they do, the rest of the team needs to use the mistakes as incentives to play harder and smarter. Pick each other up.
  5. I am really high on Marek Houston due to his outstanding fielding at the key position on the field. It is my hope that his hitting improves so that he will be at least average for a major league SS. He does not have to hit like Bobby Witt, Jr.
  6. Buck has spoiled us as far fielding in CF. I assumed Jenkins would take over CF when Buck slows up dramatically. But if Jenkins is graded out as 55 in fielding, with his best OF position being a corner position, the Twins may want to draft a really elite CF in this draft. Who is the best long term CF prospect in this years' draft? 18 year old Jacob Lombard might be a the best choice. He is ranked # 4 in this year's draft class. He is currently playing SS and is 6'3" 185 lbs. He throws and hits right-handed. His father and brother (George Lombard and George, Jr.) are known baseball players. The reason I am proposing him for CF is due to his 65 rating on his run game. It is the highest rating of any of the top 20 draft prospects for 2026.
  7. Very mature performance by Bradley. He gutted out a long first inning and got back in there and threw smoke the rest of the way. He needs to trust his stuff and get ahead in the counts.
  8. Seth, How did you write such a good report if you were not at the game? Was it on tv? Did you have a ticker tape to follow the play by play, like in the old days when Ronald Reagan was a broadcaster, as you wrote your summary? Your story was so well written, I assumed you attended the game. Amazing job of writing.
  9. I loved to see Culpepper hit behind the runner, to score Jenkins from 2B. The Twins could have used some hitting like that on Thursday. Prielipp was really good. Seth, your report was excellent. I had been excitedly anticipating this first Saints game report from you, Your excellent writing was a real treat.I assume you were at the game. Do you sit in the press box? Does the Saints staff feed the folks in the press box? If so, what do they feed you? If not, why don't they feed you? It would make sense, be inexpensive and create more goodwill. Thank you. for a wonderful read to begin my day.
  10. "Every time something started to build, it disappeared just as quickly. That's just baseball sometimes." I disagree the conclusion of these two statements in this article article. I would change the conclusion to "That's just baseball ALWAYS, when batters fail to advance the runners by hitting behind the runners or by bunting the runners over or by grounding into 3 rally-killing double plays."
  11. How many innings per game will Joe Ryan be allow to pitch? The Joe Ryan Experience was on full display yesterday and the results were terrific.
  12. We have just seen the 2026 Twins team in a microcosm in this 2-1 loss. Great starting pitching, the relievers let in all the runs, the Twins hitters hit zero balls behind the runners to move the numerous runners along, no bunts, grounded into 3 double plays and 1-12 with runners in scoring position. Alas.
  13. Since Lewis doesn't do slumps, I have to believe this is permanent.
  14. Just listing my personal favorites...I admit Blyleven and Kaat are in the Hall of Fame and Santana could have been with a couple of more years of good numbers. However when I was a kid, Pascual and Ramos and Roy Sievers and Jim Lemon were the stars of some very weak Senators' teams.
