I agree. You are so wright!
  2. tarheeltwinsfan
Specifically how might this work with Mackenzie Gore as the Twins' first pick?

Did you dad ever say to you, "Cause I said so"? I remember my dad saying that a lot. Well, I want Kintzler and Duffy switched because Nick is an owner and he said so!

What must Curtiss do next month to improve on his numbers in May so he can be the TD Relief Pitcher of the Month for June? Inquiring minds want to know.
  5. tarheeltwinsfan
I, for one, like the idea of Kintzler and Duffy switching roles, given our current bullpen makeup..

Is Matt Capps available? If so, we could trade Nick Gordon for Capps. (No, no guys, I'm just kidding about this.) I wonder who in the Twins FO actually approved the Capps for Ramos trade? That was a mistake then and evolved into a huge mistake as the years have gone by and Ramos improved and Capps, bless his heart, did his best.

Remember John W. Benbow, P-51 Mustang pilot killed over Japan July 16, 1945...he was my uncle from Greensboro, NC; remember my high school football team's captain, Murray Moseley, Statesville,NC killed Vietnam 1966; Remember Ardry Barringer in my youth group at church in Statesville, NC, killed Vietnam 1967; remember my fraternity brother at UNC, Ted Edwards, killed Vietnam 1968; remember Michael Rymarczuk from Philadelphia in my platoon - 3rd platoon, Charlie Company, 3/23rd Infantry , 2nd Infantry Division, killed in Korean DMZ July 30, 1968.

    Defense.

Now: I think I can, I think I can. Say that enough and believe it. Work harder than everyone else and someday he'll say, I knew I could, I knew I could.

Roll the dice and be the first team to take a HS RHP. He will be fun to watch as he advances through the minor leagues and when he is finally promoted to the major leagues, after months and possibly years of DaveW's posting "When will Greene be in high A; Promote Greene to AA; Why is Greene not in AAA; Put Greene on the 40 man roster; What in the world is the FO thinking by not putting Greene on the Twins right now!" Twins Daily won't be the same without you, DaveW.

Sounds like a great guy...someone I'd want my son to play for. Good luck to Tommy Watkins.

To determine whether a pitcher is an ace, you must ask the following question: "The ace of what?" Is Ervin the ace of the Twins' 2017 starting pitchers? Yes. Is he the ace of the American League for 2017? So far this season, probably yes. Is he the ace of all MLB for 2017? Maybe...so far. Is he "an" ace of mlb for the last 10 years? No he is not. It all depends on the comparisons. Like most things in life, this question is one of relativity. Compared to what? But for us at Twins Daily we only need to ask, "Do I want him to pitch for the Twins every 5th day". Absolutely!

Your point is really a great point. I had not really thought of this. This is a huge deviation from the past 4-5 years.
  15. tarheeltwinsfan
    Agreed.
  16. tarheeltwinsfan
I agree. Castro has been a real difference-maker behind the plate. He's worth every penny of his $8,000,000 so far this year...even with his low BA. I give him a lot of credit for the Twins' pitchers improved numbers this year.

Is there any future contractual $ advantage for the Twins to keep Berrios and Mejia in AAA?
  18. tarheeltwinsfan
Nick, Now that we know you can accurately predict the future, when are you moving to Las Vegas?
  19. tarheeltwinsfan
Joe "Quagmire" Mauer just won the game with a walk off home run. That made me very happy. Thanks Joe!

This report does not seem to justify making McKay the first choice in the entire draft. A middle of the rotation starter? A hitter who may not be able to catch up with major league fastballs?
  21. tarheeltwinsfan
How can a 2-1 10 inning game be "boring"?
  22. tarheeltwinsfan
I'm happy. The Twins are over .500, it is the most beautiful month of the year, the Tar Heels are national champs in basketball, I just has some good North Carolina BBQ and my family is well...and I am alive! "The snail's on the thorn, God's in His heaven, all's right with the world".

Keep him to mentor our young pitchers who will soon be arriving.

Miguel needs a good nickname. What are some suggestions? I suggest some variation referring to "Exit Velocity".. Maybe "Duck" or a variation of the Chattanooga team name: "Look Out".

Thanks for this great trip down Memory Lane.
