  1. Oh yeah... I saw we eeked out an away game from the Pirates yesterday. Good on us!
  2. I like the smell of small sample sizes in the morning. Smells like... optimism.
  3. Rumor has it she can control the low part of the zone...
  4. 8-0 in 3rd? 4 hits? 3 errors? Not exactly the cleanest of games?
  5. Been a while since i was alive... Wonder what it is like? Spring training in general is like a fan's snooze button. I can get a few more winks in, right?
  6. I knew how much i missed game threads... I hadn't realized how much i liked asterisks. ****** (Not to be confused with Asterix)
  7. Ah yes, i missed the honorable mention when perusing it before posting above. Thanks for pointing him out in there. My bad. I am glad he is still there and comes back from the injury. And i hope all the prospects play well enough to make the Twins FO have difficult decisions to make.
  8. I figured i would check in here, missing Nick Gordan's name on the Twin's daily prospect list (with #1 still to be revealed, so maybe that is him) Has he recovered from his injury, or otherwise been traded and i didn't notice? Or is everyone just more excited about other prospects these days?
  9. Looks like that is where he ended up: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/02/mariners-taijuan-walker-apparently-closing-in-on-contract.html
  10. I think we traded the aforementioned competitive round pick to LA as part of bringing Maeda in. So we are left only 1st and 2nd round picks in the top 3 rounds? We'll manage somehow...
  11. I am generally impressed with how the coaching has helped the players improve last summer. On that note, i'd like to see the results Maeda gets after working with our coaches a bit. Now i think of it, that goes both ways. Maeda may not be Nelson Cruz, but he has significant experience that could help other Twins pitchers as well. Anyway i am looking forward to the season for sure.
  12. A keeper. A liquid prospect would be for trading, me thinks.
  13. If you hear the trash can bang, duck.
  14. But... Don't they have to get by the Yankees to win the division? Oh wait. You're talking about us (Twins) when you say "they". I thought you meant the third team in the trade. Yeah, here's to Graterol outshining the Rocket in Bean Town! And makin' us look bad. But in the immortal words of Bill Smith, "You gotta give something to get something." (and i wasn't paying that close attention, so by all means, someone please dig up what Mr. Smith actually said regarding the Delmon Young trade, i am reasonably confident i got the gist of it)
  15. Thanks for pointing that out. I saw he had 4 seasons in the majors, and thought we would only have him for 2 more. But 4 at stable rate is nothing to scoff at.
  16. I also kinda hope we are getting more. Not sure if i am just being greedy. We are getting an established pitcher, but giving up a pretty good prospect. Maybe we are in a win now mode?
  17. Three (3) shall be the number of the starter, and the number of the starter shall be three (3). I certainly like having more pontentially good pitchers entering camp. Is it perhaps premature to order our pitchers before they arrive in spring training? I also wonder if he ends up as the third Red Wing starter, do we give the OP credit for calling it?
  18. Pretty sure throwing at someone's head is the epitomy of boorish behavior, but i could be wrong. And i am tickled by the thought of a whole generation of Daves the Dastardly. As for joking? That is a distinct possibilty. If he is, i admire him for being able to keep a straight face.
  19. Actually i bet this is really stupid. Are there rules about how close an infield can be drawn? Can we apply hockey tactics like screening the batter so he can't see the pitch coming? Or have someone deflect the pitch through the strike zone? Would the tools of ignorance make a player comfortable there? I loosely assume the pitcher is supposed to be the closest fielder, but i don't actually know...
