  1. With our luck, the next "free" injury will be a cheap fix anyway. Like a Player for the MTV, maybe get a blister on your middle finger. Maybe get a blister on your thumb?
  2. Wait... the season lost? (Well, where'd you last see it? Backtrack from there.) Oh ye of little faith! I got two words: Bux Ton.
  3. After yesterday.... Maybe they're onto something?
  4. I think batters are hogging it all. Rumer has it Sano claim a whole jug that he won't let anyone near.
  5. It was about a half an hour. But it felt longer...
  6. Sorry for being slowto comment here, but of course i'm pulling for Nick too! Alas, i hope i'm not bad luck, as the last minor league game i made it to was the one against Pawtucket where he got injured. So yeah,i figure i owe him some good luck this time.
  7. What does Wichita State have to do with this?
  8. Meh. It is but one loss. Counts no more than the 8-0 loss the day before. Wait... in emphatically counts less, as that was 2 games. Some day, we shall hit lefties again.
  9. You are wise behind your ears!
  10. Maybe not literally winning the triple crown as others have more home runs, runs batted in, and at bats. And he is neither a horse nor a jockey for that matter, so isn't he winning that triple crown either. But he is playing his heart out, knocking the snot out of the ball, and avoiding the actual DL (knock on wood) so he's winning my tertiatary definition of a triple crown. And i look forward to checking in at the quarter season markers to see how he is fairing against the triple crown field...
  11. I hope he finds his way to the majors sometime this summer. His a favorite of mine for his first two starts if nothing else. Also 1 for 1 batting record in the majors!
  12. I don't suppose there is news as to plans for any upcoming games yet?
  13. And to be totally fair, not watching just leaves more time to post online, as well as less relevence, due to ignorance of happenings. I've fallen into that pit before.
  14. They say the decision was made "after consultation with Major League Baseball, and local and state officials." Look no further for a cause of delay, as they all are busy people.
  15. Is Valley Fair still the goto place for rollercoasters? Been a couple decades since i went on the corkscrew. Alas, i presume it is closed in these covid times.
  16. Historical sites are also worth it. Check out scenic Fort Snelling overlooking both the mighty Mississippi river and the Minnesota.
  17. The one we sign long term is more important. I am not optimistic we will sign either long term. If i chose, i'd sign Buxton all the way. But well, one less ace level pitcher just means more diving catches for Buxton. Whereas better pitching probably means fewer exciting plays, even if we are more likely to win. Good thing it isn't up to me.
  18. We are the Underdog? Problem solved. All we need to do is speak in rhyming couplets. "Never fear, Underdog is here!" To start with, and vary onwards. "A timely bunt and we're in the hunt" "Then hit the ball over the wall" "beat the shift with uber or lyft"
  19. I think the plan for Brent Rooker is to put the side work in on the Taxi squad, and be ready to knock the snot out of stirkes, let balls go by, and run the bases smart. Oh, and to field cleanly what he can get to.. And hit his cut off. In short, plaay ball.
  20. Simmons got no team MVP votes? I expect him to be in the discussion at the end, although i can't fault no one for not expecting him to win it....
  21. If memory serves, someone in a previous thread clarified his opt out was in August, with some language in place should an opportunity in an asian league present itself.
  22. One of the comments on Dobnak i believe from the coaches over recent years that stuck with me is that he doesn't try to play outside of himself. I think this contract is more of the same pragmatism. I really hope he hits all the escalators. I also think the relative size/structure of the signing makes it reasonably safe from the uncertainty of the next collective bargaining agreement. I don't expect many other long term deals until the new CBA is in place.
  23. They are as much a part of thr game as anyone else. When do they become eligible for HOF?
