  1. How's our 40 man look? We got room? Or is there an obvious person to drop to make room ie. a pitcher he is better than?
  2. And future arbitration numbers are based on this year, compounding the difference, as i understand it.
  3. Er... MLBTrade rumors has this: "The Twins announced that they struck deals with Trevor May, Taylor Rogers, Eddie Rosario and Byron Buxton. Buxton earns $3.075MM, per Jon Heyman of MLB Network (via Twitter)."
  4. That's pretty clever. I wonder if there is something can be said about if the "arbi"s have a beef.
  5. Or if messiness does occur, the player(s) takes it to heart and prove(s) themself(ves) with dominant season. Think chip on Denard Span's shoulder.
  6. Hey look. Something happened. I am content. (Saying this before i read all 14 pages of comments. I waited to say something about Dozier going to the Dodgers in the next 24 hours, and i was playing catchup until the thread was locked.)
  7. But has Zach been good this year? I am led to believe that is a consideration in the process...
  8. Clipboard: a universal symbol of authority. That and an enormous keyring, um to lock the game down. Not bad as nicknames go, if you be proposing... I sure hope he lives up to it.
  9. Concur. (well, i am in a high parking area, so sometimes ya can't back in without some one will sneak in behind ya, but indeed my favorite spot is one that is such that it is really only possible to back into, and surprise, more often than not, its free)
  10. I for one welcome healthy competition. Maybe it will help us to deal with those pesky east coast teams...
  11. I say we put them on the field next season and find out! It might give us something to talk about...
  12. Unless he accidentally kicked it on his way to first? Unlikely i grant, but he does run pretty fast.
  13. I am just glad it is a 60 day list, as opposed to a 60 game list, so he can start the season running on all cylinders... if he is healthy by then. Not that i expect him to have cylinders... I am pretty sure MLB has rules about robotic augmentation.
  14. I think the funniest thing about this response is it follows a post by someone with the username Monkeypaws... Isn't there a short story about a monkey paw that grants wishes? For me it is drowned in the depth of camping stories, many of which were borrowed from the Red Sox fan, Stephen King.
  15. I am more forgiving of misjudged long fly balls by announcers after yesterday. I was close enough to the field last night i was bad at judging how deep fly balls were. And will folk forgive me for secretly hoping it made it to extras juat to see Buxton bat? No? I thought not...
  16. I am sorry i don't get round to reading these summaries as often as i'd like these days. Sure do appreciate 'em though. Been curious about Jake Hirabayashi. First i heard of him was when he came in for Nick Gordon when he was injured, in AAA. Next i saw his name in one of the Rookie leagues? And now he's at Cedar Rapids? I have been too lazy to follow up on him.
  17. I was wondering how the recent slew of DFAs worked with regards to trades. One loosely assumes they aren't the most valuable of assets, but they have 10 days to trade them or clear waivers or outright them if memory serves? Waivers take 3 days as well? It shows your hand, but if >1 team were interested, it could precipitate a mini-deadline for a deal involving them ahead of the main deadline. Probably not useful, but i do like to make things more complicated than they should be...
