  1. I guess we need more Byrons in Baseball, eh?
  2. I hear the winner has the best pit cruise...
  3. Video game season. At least until Grandpa Columbo comes over to read a book...
  4. How long before the vet committee may consider him? May they consider him earlier because he was snubbed? Or will he have to wait through an equivalent of all 15 ballots he theoretically could have been on? Don't remember the rules, and too lazy to look 'em up... For the sake o' MN sports, i hope he gets in, and would get a chuckle if he got in earlier this route.
  5. fifm. I guess it was late at night, and maybe i shoulda reconsidered letting myself operate a web browser...
  6. I don't i really like toppings on my frozen yogurt. What's the point if it isn't smothered in butterscotch?
  7. Begs the question, though, if we are seeing the mild mannered side of RB on TD...
  8. A nice read and all, but i am still trying to wrap my mind around how evaluate depth... It feels like the ordering here is more dependent on the position in general than our team. Of course pitching is deeper, as the roles are less sppecifically defined than positions. And up the middle positions are shallower because more demanding. So kudos to Twins for apparently bucking that trend at catcher? Anyway, i am glad we are deep. And i look forward to our continued positional flexibility.
  9. Ah yes, i missed the honorable mention when perusing it before posting above. Thanks for pointing him out in there. My bad. I am glad he is still there and comes back from the injury. And i hope all the prospects play well enough to make the Twins FO have difficult decisions to make.
  10. I figured i would check in here, missing Nick Gordan's name on the Twin's daily prospect list (with #1 still to be revealed, so maybe that is him) Has he recovered from his injury, or otherwise been traded and i didn't notice? Or is everyone just more excited about other prospects these days?
  11. I am generally impressed with how the coaching has helped the players improve last summer. On that note, i'd like to see the results Maeda gets after working with our coaches a bit. Now i think of it, that goes both ways. Maeda may not be Nelson Cruz, but he has significant experience that could help other Twins pitchers as well. Anyway i am looking forward to the season for sure.
  12. Pretty sure throwing at someone's head is the epitomy of boorish behavior, but i could be wrong. And i am tickled by the thought of a whole generation of Daves the Dastardly. As for joking? That is a distinct possibilty. If he is, i admire him for being able to keep a straight face.
  13. I hope we win. But i am comfortable letting them move for pitching when they feel it is right. And who knows. They are finding ways for the current pitchers to rise to the challange. Maybe they will?
  14. I don't know... I was hoping for a nice quiet time to get some work done without being distracted by a lot of baseball excitement. Or football excitement for that matter. If ya don't mind, i got a lot of things to catch up on. Enjoy the signing, just don't let it get toooo out of control...
  15. How's our 40 man look? We got room? Or is there an obvious person to drop to make room ie. a pitcher he is better than?
  16. And future arbitration numbers are based on this year, compounding the difference, as i understand it.
  17. Er... MLBTrade rumors has this: "The Twins announced that they struck deals with Trevor May, Taylor Rogers, Eddie Rosario and Byron Buxton. Buxton earns $3.075MM, per Jon Heyman of MLB Network (via Twitter)."
  18. That's pretty clever. I wonder if there is something can be said about if the "arbi"s have a beef.
  19. Or if messiness does occur, the player(s) takes it to heart and prove(s) themself(ves) with dominant season. Think chip on Denard Span's shoulder.
  20. Hey look. Something happened. I am content. (Saying this before i read all 14 pages of comments. I waited to say something about Dozier going to the Dodgers in the next 24 hours, and i was playing catchup until the thread was locked.)
