  1. Is Valley Fair still the goto place for rollercoasters? Been a couple decades since i went on the corkscrew. Alas, i presume it is closed in these covid times.
  2. Historical sites are also worth it. Check out scenic Fort Snelling overlooking both the mighty Mississippi river and the Minnesota.
  3. The one we sign long term is more important. I am not optimistic we will sign either long term. If i chose, i'd sign Buxton all the way. But well, one less ace level pitcher just means more diving catches for Buxton. Whereas better pitching probably means fewer exciting plays, even if we are more likely to win. Good thing it isn't up to me.
  4. We are the Underdog? Problem solved. All we need to do is speak in rhyming couplets. "Never fear, Underdog is here!" To start with, and vary onwards. "A timely bunt and we're in the hunt" "Then hit the ball over the wall" "beat the shift with uber or lyft"
  5. I think the plan for Brent Rooker is to put the side work in on the Taxi squad, and be ready to knock the snot out of stirkes, let balls go by, and run the bases smart. Oh, and to field cleanly what he can get to.. And hit his cut off. In short, plaay ball.
  6. Simmons got no team MVP votes? I expect him to be in the discussion at the end, although i can't fault no one for not expecting him to win it....
  7. If memory serves, someone in a previous thread clarified his opt out was in August, with some language in place should an opportunity in an asian league present itself.
  8. One of the comments on Dobnak i believe from the coaches over recent years that stuck with me is that he doesn't try to play outside of himself. I think this contract is more of the same pragmatism. I really hope he hits all the escalators. I also think the relative size/structure of the signing makes it reasonably safe from the uncertainty of the next collective bargaining agreement. I don't expect many other long term deals until the new CBA is in place.
  9. They are as much a part of thr game as anyone else. When do they become eligible for HOF?
  10. Thanks for the details! I like the phrasing Asian language, which in context doesn't mean they have a portion of the contract written in Asian, but that there is an English section pertaining to the event an opportunity to play in Asia comes to fruition. And having watched one video on a tweet about Law, something about his demeanor reminds me of Colon. I hope we see him on the Twins mound sometime this season, though i am patient, if nothing else.
  11. I don't believe he is on the 40 man roster yet, so no options used to send him to a minor league team. As whosafraid said, the question is whether his deal has an opt out or not, as minor league deals to major league players often (but not always) do. Anyway, he has certainly put up the numbers. We'll see soon enough how it plays out.
  12. Well... having recently caught up on many marvel movies, Spiderman didn't get to be an Avenger until Captain America quit. Just think of Kirilloff as our friendly neighborhood Spidey. Unless of course Cleveland takes their old mascot back. And don't worry. Now we can cross the river to see him play in St. Paul. Would Rooker then be Ant-man?
  13. No one is accounting for inflation. One person back then was worth 10-20 in terms of today's folk. Paul Bunyan statue up by Brainard was merely lifesized.
  14. Congrats, Kyle, on the opening day start. And i wonder if Mr. Hamilton will stick with the White Sox. Always a fun player to watch.
  15. I am actually excited for the a lot of the back up talent, but i'm okay with not so much discussion of their merits. Buxton sure deserves the attention. If Buxton signed an extention, it wouldn't just make my day, it'd make my um... however long the extention is for. But meh. I would wish it to be fair for both sides, so no pressure on either side to get it done, especially with a CBA running out.
  16. Those sound like robust editors more suited to prime content. Remember Kenneth is low cal.
  17. Wow, i thanks for the advice! It made my winter so much better. What does Astudillo recommend for handling spring weather?
  18. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/49774-buxton-cracks-tooth-eating-steak/ The gift that keeps on giving?
  19. If only we could have hooked up Texas' powergrid last month to this over-reactor...
  20. Welcome, Simmons! Make yourself at home!
  21. "...all will once again be right with the world." I am pleased with this sentiment.
  22. Oh, and was lookin' for a place to comment upon the Gophers Basketball season. They had some promise, but lost their guard and seem sunk at this point. But they're the only team to beat Michigan, so that's something.
  23. Suggestion makes more sense than i gave it credit for. 15 players can a soccer team make, and that works out considering how substitutions work/are used. But the skill sets differ sufficiently it is unclear they'd be competitive in that league either.
