  1. Did the Padres run out Players whose names star with a P? Does that make them the Adres? Sounds like a Prospect with Potential. I am Placated.
  2. We traded 2 Rs for 3 Ps. We're moving up in the Alphabet!
  3. I will also add i am still getting ads. Sure, the ones that i had gotten into the habit of clicking away don't automatically pop up, but there are still the background ads, and those are worse because i can't click them away.
  4. Well, it was nice being ol' timey. Wonder if i will ever be ol' timey again... Remember when we got to make our own labels? Those were the days!
  5. Or you can do it in the dark, which is easier if you are also the employee, although perhaps less rewarding... What's that word? Schadenfreude?
  6. And thanks for this here update for those of us who couldn't be there.
  7. Likewise.(At least with my vaguely pithy comments if not financially) Up in New England, with a 50odd man roster, averaging maybe 250lbs, that's like... 6 tons? I'd go so far as to say i'd rather avoid the Pats on my back.. (I might consider driving the bus, though. Just as long as no one checks what class license i have.) Anyway, i do believe i eminently prefer bein' "Ol' Timey"... just like the soggy bottum boys.
  8. Bump. (not noticing a response...) And to clarify, no i don't really need the vocal talents of Mel Blanc (and sorry for spelling his name wrong), but i still would rather have the option of not being haloed or acknowledged. Are we allowed to do so anonymously? (Well, i wouldn't complain about not having ads, but i figure that is less work for you, while changing how my stuff gets displayed to everyone else smells like more work)
  9. Hmmm... Correa only got opt outs after the first two seasons...
  10. Oh yeah... Welcome to Minnesota, Mr. Correa!
  11. Concur. Appreciating Correa's efforts and missing Rortvedt's are seperate events, and we can have differing simultanious responses.
  12. Isn't this a rebuilding year? I am also curious how we will build a better fan base, whether by drafting, trading, or free agency. I am surprised i'm still a Twins fan... I woulda thought they'd have flipped me for younger fans years ago.
  13. What if i didn't want a big gold or silver halo around every post i make? (I think i'd rather have mel blank read my posts out loud, if that were an option.)
  14. And somewhere else it said Spring Training had already begun... That answers my question, and on a closer look, the countdown is for the first game.
  15. I am already missing him. My recollection is he dragged his feet cross the plate, got ejected for that, so he went back and buried the entire plate in (kicked) dirt. I do like spunk.
  16. The big count down on the banner of the top site implies Spring Training starts on Thursday? I'm just surprised it no longer says "Breaking news"... And is this the place to ask things about Spring Training? Assuming i have questions beyond when it begins, of course.
  17. i approve of Sam. Too lazy these days to read something likened in epic length to the works of Tolkien... (although i suppose it could be worse... Wagnerian in scope. Forcing me to learn another language. Although that would probably do me good) Did he ever get his hands on a ring, by the way?
  18. Mmmm. A way with words, you have.
  19. Sigh. So already we are losing valuable Buxton time.
  20. So no one knows if i could invite Buxton to my place for a pick up game? I was also wondering... are players being paid during the lockout? It isn't a player's fault he isn't playing. He should still be collecting a paycheck. Or have the owners stumbled upon a way out of the "unbreakable" contracts? Here's to hoping 2023 happens! (Considering how 2020 played out, i am not sure if that is optimistic)
  21. To what extent are the players currently under contract? If i invited a couple of Twins to my backyard for a pick up game, would there be penalties for them accepting? I hope the players ask for and get the back pay due to this being a lockout and not a strike. (or equivalent concessions of a usefuller nature, like a voice in the rule change discussions, such as 7 inning double headers and 2nd base runners in extra innings...) I do like the thought that the entire lockout is nothing more than a ploy to manipulate service time... Standard operating procedure. They just felt the players union needed a little bit mofre seasoning to bargain in the big leagues. What if the come to table too early and get injured? You've lost a whole season of bargaining. Anyway, back to doing usefuller things besides checking twinsdaily (saintsdaily? are we being locked out too? no, i guess not. never mind) for any updates.... Oh yeah, i too appreciate the writing here. Just too lazy to do writing myself
