  1. Anything worth talking about here? I feel they seem better at this 0-16 thing than the Vikings, and yet do not get credit for it here.
  2. I apologize for Lewis' injury. That's on me. I shoulda known better than to make a Prisoner reference about Balazovic being #6, and thereby dooming us to have a new #2 every epsiode...
  3. I too am sorry to hear this news. I hope catching it early makes the recovery eaisier and more likely he'll recover fully
  4. Obligatory Prisoner quote: "I am not a number. I'm a free man!"
  5. Yes. I am still excited about Willians Astudillo. This does not interfere with my excitement for any other Twin. Hopefully it does not excessively inflate my expectations, but it would be a boring world without hope.
  6. Isn't Bally a pinball game maker of old? The opposing team has been replaced by drop tragets, and you have to shoot it through the pitcher's legs to light the extra ball. Also don't let the ball go down the dug outs. Game called on account of tilt. Some one banged the tv too hard.
  7. This is true, and should probably be kept in mind when evaluating it. Still, i think it is an open question.
  8. Was also thinking that. I guess i would expect us to shift less, or at least less exageratedly.
  9. Who gets the better highlight reel: Buxton or Simmons?
  10. Watched the highlight reel posted above, and was impressed how many were on relays, or alertly handling baserunning. Or that needed replay to overturn. Some folk say this will give Lewis another year of seasoning. Perhaps they are right, but I look forward to him earning a call up, and benefiting (like all the other current infielders) from his mentorship.
  11. Are we also signing Samuel L. Jackson? I approve. As far as Happ's signing, also thumbs up, even though i would give that to most any signing. Happ is a player, and i look forward to seeing how he can help. Mostly i'm just too lazy to form well considered expectations. And as for Mr. Jackson, my guilty pleasure is his role as the Octopus in The Spirit. "Toilet's are always funny!"
  12. I think it is fair to be patient. We don't spoil the end of the Mandalorian season for them. They don't spoil the end of the Twins' season for us. Besides, if we sign Baby Yoda to a nice long contract, i imagine pitch framing might finally get the respect it deserves...
  13. Am i permitted to be a creature of habit and follow the Twins on game threads? That's good enough for me.
  14. The real question is who do we drop from our roster to make room for 40 pens? The stapler?
  15. I resolve to earn my trope for participation!
  16. I resolve to procrastinate smarter, not harder... or is that softer? I'll get to the other resolutions eventually... before i need to, at least.
  17. I would watch the Tom Kelly special. Nothing wrong with Die Hard neither.
  18. Oh... With a headline like way too early projection, i was hoping for something like realignment in 2050 following homoginization of rules where the Central loses Detroit and Cleveland, but gains St. Loius and Denver, and becomes the plains division, making our division great again. But i got no problem enthusiastically looking forward to next season. Am glad to keep the target on our backs as well as our field.
  19. Don't you have to like, ford a river?
  20. US 52 goes to Rochester, not I 35... And yeah, i am envious of modern times for being able to google things. Hearing a prospect was playing in Rochester when i was growing up there left me confused as to why i couldn't go to a game and watch them. Google woulda straightened me out right quick.
  21. To my knowledge, no extra runs are given for an extra long homerun. But it is easier to hit a routine fly ball than a homerun, and with increased exit velocity, more of those cans of corn will clear the fence. Also liners and grounders are more likely to find a hole if they get there faster. So he may still benefit from more refinement, but hitting the ball harder does tend to lead to better results and more runs given a similar contact profile. As to the over all question, the other core Twins would also get tendered or not based on the talent behond them. They still could get traded, but with their contracts, it would need to be a really good return.
  22. Science may discover the underlying principles, but how do we apply them to achieve results. This sounds like a job for... Engineering. So... If we cook our turkey over a dumpster fire, we will win in the playoffs?
  23. Ah, i found where to ask after the little brown jug. Do we got a chance? Are we really ranked? I shoulda paid more attention.
  24. Not enough analysis in this article for me to take it seriously. 100,000 debates? What was the distrubution of results? If simple numberical manipulations reveal interesting results in even 30% of the debates, it is a useful tool. If it carries the debate in more than 70%, that's it, I'll find something better to think about.
