  1. Doesn't seem to be much chatter about Suzuki.
  2. Absolutely agree. What I am saying is that I don't think any of the guys on our roster (other than maybe Santana) are guys that any team is "set on getting". I don't think they are viewed as integral parts to the future success of their team which is why I think they will wait until the waiver deadline to attempt a cheaper deal if it presents itself. Keep in mind that the Twins have floated Mauer out on waivers just to see if he generated interest. They will almost certainly float a pile of guys out there this year.
  3. Name one of those guys that a team would say is a must have piece for them. I think they are willing to wait and if they fall to them, they fall to them. If not, no biggy. Santana is the only one that a contending team might want as an upgrade over the backend of their rotation.
  4. What if....they move none of them? What if no moves are made by the Twins? Every team out there knows that we will be putting a lot of guys out on waivers if we don't trade them today. They know they are in better position to negotiate a better deal in August than they are now. It's not like any of these guys are must have pieces for other teams. They can afford to wait.
  5. LOL! That needs to be played during the other teams BP. If we can pipe it into their locker room, do it...it's just sooooo bad!
  6. In that uniform, I'm offering to sit out...ouch! Hammy! DOH!
  7. I had to actually look that one up. Off the album Let's Knife! Play the entire album during warmups!
  8. Wait...what? Did you just quote yourself with the same quote? I'm in a loop!
  9. I remember when they wore those...I hated the Sox even back then and I loved the fact that they had to wear shorts! LOLOLOLOLOLOL! Bring them back. Please! OK, so if you were going up to the plate against Sale, would you have "Cuts Like a Knife" as your walkup? Mack the Knife? You Brought A Knife To A Gunfight? Any other suggestions?
  10. Nah...by then he'll have hit his inning limit and we should shut him down for the year!
  11. Hmmm. Watch the Twins get killed by the worst team in the majors or watch a bunch of blowhard politicians? Tough call.
  12. I'm just afraid we won't be invited to the party.
  13. So, if they used that criteria on the current staff, how many of them would still be on the team?
  14. TR????. Antony???? Is that you?
  15. My hate for them runs deep.
  16. Because it's the White Sox.
  17. Gents, I've opened up a new thread in which I am making my case for the Twins to overtake the Sox and move out of last place in the last weekend of the season.
  18. Current AL Central standings have our Twins 21 games out of first and I have no thoughts of the Twins challenging for the lead...howevaaaa...the White Sox are currently 10 games out of first. In order to make up 11 games to climb out of last place, the Twins would have to make up a lot of ground. With 10 games remaining against the hated Sox and less than 70 games remaining for both clubs, is it possible for the Twins to crawl out of the cellar? Here's my take on the possibilities. First the Twins need to win 7 of 10 from the Sox to make up 4 games. In the remaining 58 games, if my California math is correct and the Twins were to go 33-25 (.570) and the White Sox went 25-33 games (.430), the Twins would overtake the Sox with a 75-87 record. Can it happen? You gotta believe! (KoolAid being served behind the curtain).
  19. Yeah, not the Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern...that sucked. Thinking comic book Green Lantern.
  20. No Green Lantern? Where's the love?
  21. My take on sabermetrics is that, while I love them and go stats crazy, I also recognize that they don't tell the entire story. There has to be a balance between the eyeball test and the stats.
  22. MLB Network just did a little round table on the Twins search for a new GM. Essentially, TR was a good guy, very respected...but the Twins were behind in terms of analytical stats. They were "old school". What they said was that the direction that the Twins go is going to be very telling on whether they embrace sabermetrics and all of the tools that are available to the teams.
  23. What message do you think it sends to the rest of the organization if they hire internally? What message do you think it sends to the rest of the organization if they hire externally?
  24. I agree...genious! If I you were in his shoes, wouldn't you do the same? Baseball team is losing...distance yourself from the baseball side. Team is profitable...associate yourself with the business side.
  25. If you think this organization needs a major shakeup, Kim Ng is the right person for the job. Some call her tenacious, others would call her ruthless. I don't think those are two words that have ever been used to describe TR.
