  1. Dang. Close to being a DP ball. OK, we can still work out of this.
  2. Gibson's change up has become his most effective pitch.
  3. Uh oh. 3-0 and Gibson struggling to throw strikes.
  4. Not the worst thing in the world to plunk Martinez. Now for the DP.
  5. Baseball is my respite from politics. I believe in the separation of baseball and state.
  6. 7 pitches for Gibson. Detroit threw 40 last half inning. Let's go for the kill.
  7. That was a long half inning. Gibson could be tight. Would love to see a quick 1-2-3 inning.
  8. That's high on Polanco...I don't like this umps inconsistent zone. Called Castro out on a pitch 3 inches inside.
  9. No. sharply hit right at kinsler who was shifted a bit towards 2nd..
  10. Remember boys, you really don't know what you've got until June...unless you start 0-9 and only score 14 runs, but even then we went on a 4 game win streak. The goal is to go .500 on the road and win 2 of 3 at home. Do that and you get meaningful games in September. So, just win one in Detroit and you are on track for the .500 on the road. We will score runs. Right now, Sano, Castro, and Polanco are kind of carrying us. The focus might be on Buxton, but there are plenty of guys who have yet to find their groove.
  11. OK boys! Strap on the rally hats.
  12. Don't put it on a T for V-mart. Rather walk him.
  13. If Cabrera doesn't win this, he's in slump. That's right...I'm being over dramatic.
  14. When you're in a slump, every pitch seems like a pitchers pitch and catches the corner.
  15. Regarding Buxton, about the time I start writing him off, he hits a single to left center that he and only he turns into a double. I think eventually, he will be fine. I don't want him sent down as he is a game changer on the field. I would like to see him bunt more...especially during a slump.
  16. Why would they put on a pull shift for Castro? Dude has hit opposite field about half the time this year.

Totally agree...but injuries happen. Bad luck happens. Cancer in the clubhouse happens. It's baseball.

To win a wildcard, yes. To win the AL Central? Gaah! There's some really not good teams in our division this year. It all depends on Cleveland in my mind. Chicago is not good. The Royals? Not looking so good. Detroit? Maybe. I know we aren't supposed to contend, but if we can feast off the AL Central and then play .500 against the rest, we will play meaningful games in September.
  19. With what the defense has showed so far, why would you want someone who walks guys over someone who throws strikes? Hint:with our defense, one will get caught a lot while the other will never result in an out.
  20. Lots of the things that have already been mentioned - Sano at bats, Polanco, Castro, etc...and this. Our pitchers are challenging batters inside more than I can ever remember. We used to pitch like we were afraid of hitting guys. Now we are serving notice that they better not get too comfortable in the box. That has opened up the outside corner and allowed our pitchers to have success. Also, it seems like the plate has shrunk. The corners aren't being called as often. It's early for the umps too.
  21. Whew! Nice to win the series!
  22. Well this one certainly feels like it's getting away from us.
